Undergraduate Admission Requirements

If you’re thinking about applying as a first-year undergraduate, here’s a clear breakdown of what’s required:

  • Application Form: Apply through the Common Application platform.
  • School Records: Submit official transcripts from all secondary schools you’ve attended. These should list your courses and grades.
  • Senior Year Grades: If you're currently finishing school, send your most recent grades as soon as they’re available.
  • Counselor Recommendation & School Report: Your school counselor must send a recommendation letter and complete the School Report form through the Common Application.
  • Teacher Evaluation: Ask one teacher to submit the Teacher Evaluation form through the Common App.
  • English Language Proficiency Test
    If English is not your native language, you must take one of the following approved tests:

  • Optional Interview (InitialView or Vericant): You may choose to complete an interview through InitialView or Vericant to further show your English skills. However, submitting an English test score is still required.
  • Proof of Financial Support: You’ll need to show that you can cover tuition, housing, and other costs for your first year.
  • Passport Copy: Upload a clear copy of the photo page from your valid passport.
  • SAT/ACT Scores (Optional): BU is test-optional through Fall 2028 and Spring 2029. You can submit SAT or ACT scores if you feel they strengthen your application, but they are not required.

Graduate Admission Requirements
