Rent Payment

Rent is always paid in advance and never collected in cash.

Alternatively, you can make a deposit at a Commonwealth Bank and you will be given a receipt. Both methods are recorded electronically, which will make it easier for both parties to keep track of the payments.

Late Rent Fees

Rent must always be paid on time. The following late fees, paid to the House Fund, apply to each

fortnightly rent not paid on or before the due date:

Not paid within 3 days (i.e. by Friday) after the due date: $20 per room

Not paid within 7 days (i.e. by next Tuesday) after the due date: $100 per room

If rent is more than 14 days outstanding (i.e. by the time the next rent is due), you will have to

leave immediately. This will be considered as leaving without giving due notice, which means you

will have to cover 3 weeks rent from that date. Other fees may also apply.

Length of Stay/leaving Early

The idea is that this is a home and not a hostel, which is why the minimum commitment is one

year- 12 months (52 weeks). If you stay for less than 12 months, the following deductions from

your bond will apply, depending on how long you have stayed:

1-12 weeks- $700

13-24 weeks- $600

25-36 weeks- $500

37-52 weeks- $400

Other

The bond is fixed at $800 per person (i.e. 4 weeks rent). This is lodged with the Residential

Tenancy Authority (RTA) and will be returned when you finish boarding, provided that:

there is no damage or loss to the house or anyones belongings

the rooming agreement is not broken

all rent is paid

the room is left clean

the keys are returned
