Frequently Asked Questions

Can I choose a certain room?

Absolutely! You can choose the floor, flat and room numbers should you wish to.

Can we book as a group?

Of course. For locations with cluster flats, booking with your friends can easily be arranged. You just need to let us know who you want to live with and we can make sure you live together.

How do I find out who I am living with?

When booking your room you can see your flatmates’ gender, what year they’re in and where they’re studying. We don’t give out names for data protection, but you can always get in touch with the Residence Team to find out where you can join the resident’s chat to give you a chance to meet people virtually before you move in.

When can I move in?

Around four weeks before the big day, you will be invited to book a move-in slot. You can choose the time that works best for you. If you have specific needs around accessibility or travel arrangements, please Property know at this stage.

What deposit do I need?

Unlike other providers, Property do not ask for a deposit to secure your booking. They do, however, require a £99 advance rent payment which will be deducted from your first rent instalment (think of it like a present to yourself when September rolls around!).

Can I have pets?

No pets are allowed – sorry!

Can I order bedding and kitchen packs?

Yes, you can order Bedding and Kitchen Packs.

Do I need a TV Licence?

Yes, if you want to watch TV (including online) in your room you’ll need to have a valid TV Licence – unless Property tell you we’re covering it.

What is the policy on guests staying in my room?

Can I smoke?

All student accommodation is smoke-free, and this includes all types of E-cigarettes. You can find designated smoking areas outside the buildings or in the courtyards.

How do I connect to the internet?

All of  sites have a wireless network covering the whole building. On arrival, simply connect your devices to the wireless network. They also offer the option to connect using an Ethernet Cable, which you just plug into the network wall socket in your room.

Are any items banned on site?

For health and safety reasons, Property don’t allow the following items: candles, incense burners, deep fat fryers and any electrical appliances that don’t comply with British standards and statutory regulations. Please do not bring any of these on site; you will be asked to remove them.

Will anyone else access my room?

Property carry out room inspections 3 times a year and occasionally health and safety checks. When they do, they’ll need access to your room. But they’ll always give you at least 24 hours’ notice and they’ll knock and announce ourselves before entering your personal space.

How big is the fridge in the studio? And is there any freezer space?

All studios come with a small fridge with a freezer compartment.

Can I bring my rice cooker/electric pressure cooker?
