Even though Dublin is the smallest of Ireland's major cities, there are still several ways to get around, including buses, cars, bicycles, and foot. How to navigate Dublin like a local is shown here. The Dublin public bus system is well connected to all our student accommodation near American College and all of the city's key attractions.
1. Bus: With an abundance of buses running to and from the city, students can take these buses from the main bus terminal near the City Centre or a nearby bus stop to make their commute from university to student accommodation more manageable public transportation is a fantastic resource for moving around, and in some places, students can travel for free or very little! For students to navigate around the city, there is a well-connected bus network with 120 routes and 18 night services. Bus fares are dependent on the distance travelled and can be purchased online or on the bus itself. Additionally, students can purchase a leap card, a prepaid bus card that can be used on all buses and will save them some money.
2. Train: The Dublin Area Rapid Transit system is another way for students to get around the city (DART). The trains run every ten minutes and are well connected. They stretch from Greystones in the south to the Irish Sea coast in North County. Additionally, DART has commuter routes that let students go to other cities and towns.
3. Cycling: Cycling in Dublin offers a unique and enjoyable way to explore the vibrant Irish capital. The city has been making significant strides in becoming more bicycle-friendly in recent years, with numerous initiatives and infrastructure improvements.
