England's transport system is potentially one of the most effective. The city is intelligently connected to all major transport links within walking distance of all of London's universities. From the world-famous London Underground and its DLR (Mechanical Light Rail System) to trams and buses, students can explore London's wide range of transport options. To help our students, we list the major transport modes in London and average fares. Students should be aware that these fees may vary from peak to busy times.
1. Train:
London has an underground system, which operates from all zones in London, covering central London to Waterloo Station and Piccadilly Circus. These stations are simply well-connected. So students don't have to worry about travelling to nearby cities on weekends.
2. Buses:
London's bus network operates 24 hours a day, with over 100 buses servicing the city. Students can catch a bus from Victoria Bus Station near the city centre, which connects to all of England's national highways. There are hundreds of local bus stops throughout the city, designed to serve local and national travellers. Buses in London average between £2 and £5 per day. Students can also opt for the 'Oyster Card' bus fare, which significantly reduces local transport costs.
3. Cycling:
Students can also explore parts of the city by bicycle. Students can visit some of London's premier cycling areas, including London's famous Jubilee Park & Gardens.
