The city not only has fantastic attractions, but it also has a superb and user-friendly transit system. Thanks to trains, trams, buses, and other forms of transportation, you'll be able to view everything you want to see in no time. Students may also easily commute to and from their ECU student accommodation.
1. Trains
In Melbourne, trains are the quickest and most pleasant way to travel long distances within the city. The city's trains and the rest of public transportation are coordinated by PTV, which offers an outstanding travel planner on its website. A concession, elderly, or kid myki costs AU$ 3, while a full-fare myki card costs AU$ 6.
2. Tram
Melbourne's character is intrinsically tied to trams, and an enormous network serves the city. During the day, they run every 15 minutes; at night, they run every 20 minutes. Most lines operate until around 12.30 am Sunday through Thursday and 1 am Friday and Saturday; a night service is available all night.
3. Bus
Melbourne has an extensive bus network with over 300 routes serving all locations where trains and trams do not serve. Most routes operate from 6 am to 9 pm on weekdays, 8 am to 9 pm on weekends, and 9 am to 9 pm on Sundays. On weekends after midnight, several suburbs provide night bus services. A myki card is required to ride the buses. The concessionary cost is AU$2.25, and the standard bus fare is AU$5.
4. Bike
Melbourne is one of Australia's most bike-friendly cities, but more effort is needed to enhance infrastructure and encourage people to ride two-wheels rather than four.
