Glasgow has a comprehensive transport system connecting every corner of the city. With a few options of buses, trains, & subways dominating the transport scene, the city has left no scope for transport grievances. Moreover, locals prefer to either cycle or walk, as everything in Glasgow is at a very close distance. At Glasgow West End, the area has its subway, train, and bus stations that bridge the distance between near and far away places. Moreover, the area has some built cycle paths and pedestrian walkways, making transport easier. Luckily, most of the student accommodation in Glasgow's west end is close to our properties; here are the most used transport options:
Bus
Glasgow West End has one of the best accessibility to buses in Glasgow; most of the buses running in this area are connected to important parts of the city, universities, train stations, shopping centres, etc. Some of the major bus service providers include Stagecoach, City Bus, and McGill bus services. Typically a bus ticket will cost you around £2.50 to £2.80, but using a Zone card can fetch you some perks and discounts.
Bicycles
Bicycles are an eco-friendly choice for travelling across the city; the Glasgow Council has become more environmentally aware and has made conscious efforts to build cycling lanes for safe cycling. Moreover, to encourage more people, they started the Nextbike bike sharing scheme & have built cycling stations around for parking your bikes.
Subways
Subways are another efficient way of roaming across Glasgow; the city has an extensive network that operates in a circular route with 15 stations, which makes the city very accessible and easy to navigate. Normally, a one-way single ticket will cost anywhere around £1.55. At Glasgow West End, the subway halts at two stations, i.e. Kelvinbridge and Hillhead, that connect you to the Westline and city centre.
