The Mander Portman Woodward (MPW) Group, founded in London in 1973 by three Cambridge University graduates, is one of the most well-known and recognised independent college brands in the UK. The college also has a well-established football squad that practises weekly and competes against other colleges. The CIFE Football Tournament, held at St George’s Park, the Football Association’s national stadium, is the highlight of their sporting calendar. Their yearly meetings versus MPW Cambridge, played both at home and away, are perhaps the most exciting of the athletic calendar, with the winner taking home the MPW Football Challenge Trophy. Aside from football, students participate in a variety of other sports such as badminton, basketball, and cricket. Staff and students compete in an annual basketball game. Staff and students participate in a weekly jogging club.
