You have various transportation choices close to the university, including buses, taxis, trams, trains and rental cars around our UCD student accommodation. Buses and trains are the most popular forms of public transportation for students. Getting around the city is very easy for students.
1. Bus
Buses serve all areas of Central Dublin and the bus stops are just 30 minutes drive away from UCD student accommodation, as well as many suburbs throughout the Greater Dublin Area. Dublin Bus is the primary service provider, but private operators such as Go-Ahead Ireland also operate bus routes in the city.
2. Train
Dublin is served by DART (Dublin Area Rapid Transit). The DART line runs from Malahide or Howth in North Dublin south to Greystones in County Wicklow and is very conveniently located a few minutes from the student accommodation in Dublin. Irish Rail, Ireland's publicly-owned railway operator, provides services.
3. Trams
The tram system in Dublin is known as 'Luas', which means speed in Irish. Green and Red lines serve many areas of Central Dublin and some residential areas, primarily in the city's south and southwest. The entire network can be enjoyed from central Dublin which is not far away from student accommodation UCD
4. Cycle
One can also rent a cycle and take a tour around the city and at UCD student accommodation by Amber you have a bike storage facility too. The rent for one day is around €3.50 for 24 hours. This is one of the popular modes of transportation students prefer.
