Yeronga now had better access to the City (via the Victoria Bridge) and the surrounding areas after the railway from Corinda to the South Brisbane river wharves opened in June 1884. The line's extension to South Brisbane in 1891 and the following tram service increased access to the City even more. Even yet, a large number of passengers heading to the city's south end still exit at South Bank station to walk or board a bus over the Victoria Bridge or at South Brisbane station to do the same. It became possible for trains to link to Roma Street, Central, and other city stations after the Merivale Bridge opened in 1978.

In 1984, the railway through Yeronga was electrified, marking the beginning of a 30-minute service frequency. On January 20, 2014, it was increased to a 15-minute frequency.

Additionally, two bus lines that go to the City and Indooroopilly pass through the area.

The Brisbane City Council (BCC) took control of the local bus and tram systems after being established. In 1940, Yeronga received service on Route 7, one of the first BCC bus lines. This service, now called Route 107, is still offered to the City. Indooroopilly is now served in addition by the Route 105 bus.

Student Lifestyle And Living In Yeronga

Yeronga is a Brisbane residential neighbourhood located on the Brisbane River's waterfront. The suburb's name is thought to have been derived from an Aboriginal word, "yarung," which means sandy, and "ba," which means location, or from the name of Charles Hardie Buzacott's home, "Yerong-lea," which is located around 7 km south of the Brisbane CBD.

Initially, the suburb's main industry was agriculture. The region also saw the establishment of dairy farms and the growing of cotton, maize, potatoes, arrowroot, and sugar. The area around Kadumba Street and Fairfield Road had the earliest settlements (formerly Station Avenue).
