  • Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum is a museum and art gallery that reopened in 2006 after a three-year refurbishment and since then has been one of Scotland's most popular visitor attractions. The gallery is located on Argyle Street, in the West End of the city, on the banks of the River Kelvin.
  • Riverside Museum is the current location of the Glasgow Museum of Transport, at Pointhouse Quay in the Glasgow Harbour regeneration district of Glasgow. The building opened in June 2011.The purpose-built Museum replaced the previous home for the city's transport collection.
  • People's Palace and Winter Gardens is a museum and glasshouse situated in Glasgow Green, and was opened on 22 January 1898 by the Earl of Rosebery. Originally the People's Palace was intended to provide a cultural centre for the people of East End.
  • Hunterian is the oldest museum in Scotland. It covers The Hunterian Museum, The Hunterian Art Gallery, The Mackintosh House, The Zoology Museum and The Anatomy Museum, all located in various buildings on the main campus of the University in the west end of Glasgow. The museum first opened in 1807.
  • Gallery of Modern Art established in 1996 is the main gallery of contemporary art in Glasgow. GoMA offers a programme of temporary exhibitions and workshops. GoMA displays work by local and international artists as well as addressing contemporary social issues through its major biannual projects.

  • Citizens Theatre is the principal producing theatre in the west of Scotland. The Citizens Company was based at first in the Glasgow Athenaeum. It moved in 1945 to its present site, the then Royal Princess's Theatre (opened 1878), where it became the Citizens Theatre. Over time, many patrons and staff members have reported sightings of ghosts.
  • Pavilion Theatre is a theatre located on Renfield Street. One of Glasgow's oldest theatres, the Pavilion Theatre of Varieties opened on 29 February 1904 as a Music hall. Many of the leading music hall artistes of the early 20th century appeared at the Pavilion.
  • Tron Theatre is located at the corner of Trongate and Chisholm Street, in the Merchant City area of Glasgow. The Tron has grown into a thriving multi-faceted venue. Home to the award-winning Tron Theatre Company, it is a producing house for contemporary theatrical work and also functions as a receiving house for a diverse visiting programme of theatre, comedy and music from Scotland, the UK and abroad.
  • Theatre Royal is the oldest theatre in Glasgow, located at 282 Hope Street in Cowcaddens. The theatre originally opened in 1867, the name changing to the Theatre Royal in 1869, and is the longest running theatre in Scotland. The building continues to be the performance home of Scottish Opera, and of Scottish Ballet.
  • Glasgow Film Theatre is an independent cinema in the city centre of Glasgow. GFT is a registered charity. It occupies a purpose-built cinema building, first opened in 1939. Over the years GFT has played host to many illustrious guests including Sean Connery and Quentin Tarantino.
  • King Theatre opened in 1904. The theatre is primarily a receiving house for touring musicals, dance, comedy and circus-type performances. The theatre also provides a prominent stage for local amateur productions.

  • Commonwealth Arena and Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome is an indoor arena and velodrome. Built for the 2014 Commonwealth Games, these venues hosted the badminton and track cycling events. Situated opposite Celtic Park in the East End of Glasgow, the complex is the headquarters of Sportscotland and Scottish Cycling.
  • Hampden Park is in the Mount Florida area of Glasgow. The venue serves as the national stadium of football in Scotland. Rugby, tennis and baseball matches are held here occasionally.   • Celtic Park is a football stadium in the Parkhead area of Glasgow, and is the home ground of Celtic Football Club. Celtic Park, an all-seater stadium with a capacity of 60,411, is the largest football stadium in Scotland. It opened on 20 August 1892 as a multi purpose venue and has seen numerous concerts and speakers as well.
  • Kelvin Hall in Argyle Street Glasgow, is one of the largest exhibition centres in Britain and now a mixed-use arts and sports venue that opened as an exhibition venue in 1927. It has also been used as a concert hall and has even hosted international athletic events, boxing, badminton and volleyball competitions.
  • SSE Hydro is a multi-purpose indoor arena located within the Scottish Event Campus in Glasgow. It officially opened in 2013. The arena has seen various notable performers as well as political speakers. SSE Hydro was host to the largest televised debate seen in Scotland's history and also hosted netball and gymnastic events.

  • Celtic Connections festival started in 1994 in Glasgow, Scotland, and has since been held every January. Featuring over 300 concerts, ceilidhs, talks, free events, late night sessions and workshops, the festival focuses on the roots of traditional Scottish music and also features international folk, roots and world music artists.
  • Glasgow Film Festival is an annual film festival based in Glasgow. The festival began in 2005. 2017 saw the festival attain over 40,000 admissions for the fourth consecutive year. Featuring 65 UK premieres!
  • Glasgow International Comedy Festival is a comedy festival in Glasgow. The comedy festival started in 2002 and is held annually in March. The largest comedy festival in Europe, it attracts visitors from all over the world.
  • Riverside festival Glasgow, two day music festival featuring DJs from around the world. It has been taking place on the banks of the river Clyde on the grounds of the iconic Riverside Museum for the five consecutive years now in 2017.

  • Glasgow Cathedral, also called the High Kirk of Glasgow dates back from the period before the Scottish Reformation. Glasgow Cathedral is located north of High Street and east of Cathedral Street, beside the Glasgow Royal Infirmary.
  • Glasgow Necropolis is a Victorian cemetery in Glasgow. It is on a low hill to the east of Glasgow Cathedral (St. Mungo's Cathedral). Fifty thousand individuals have been buried here. Typically not every grave has a stone. Approximately 3500 monuments exist here.
  • Glasgow Science Centre is a visitor attraction located in the Clyde Waterfront Regeneration area on the south bank of the River Clyde in Glasgow. Glasgow Science Centre opened on 5 June 2001. It is one of Scotland's most popular paid-for visitor attractions. It is a purpose-built science centre composed of three principal buildings: Science Mall, Glasgow Tower and an IMAX cinema.
  • The Lighthouse in Glasgow is Scotland's Centre for Design and Architecture. Completed in 1895 the building now serves as a venue for conference/events programme, catering facilities, temporary and permanent exhibitions, a limited amount of business space, and a design shop.
