Do I get a real UK phone number?
Yes. Every plan includes a UK mobile number with unlimited UK calls and texts. It's a full UK mobile service, not a data-only travel eSIM — so your bank, your GP, your landlord and delivery drivers can all reach you.
Can I keep my current number?
Yes. An eSIM is a second line on your phone, so your existing SIM stays exactly where it is. WhatsApp, your bank back home and family calls carry on unchanged.
When does my plan start?
When your eSIM is issued, which is timed to 24 hours before you move in. You'll confirm your move-in date during verification, so buying early costs you nothing.
Which network will I be on?
Vodafone, one of the UK's largest networks, through our partner Aelixar. Same coverage, same 5G — without a long contract or a credit check.
Why do I need to verify my identity?
UK regulation requires the network to confirm the identity of everyone issued a mobile number. You'll upload your passport through a secure link from Aelixar. It's a legal step, not an Amber preference — and we never see your documents.
Will it work on my phone?
Almost certainly. Nearly every phone sold in the last six years supports eSIM, and it just needs to be unlocked. Open your settings and search “eSIM” — if it appears, you're supported.
