Navigating the amberstudent App: A step-by-step guide

Imagine getting accepted into the university of your dreams, and now all you need to do is make the move to a new country, a new city, and an entirely new time zone. Amber offers you more than 10,000+ student housing options in over 250 cities across the globe. But if you are new to the app, then this step-by-step guide will help you navigate through it efficiently.

The amber student app is available on Google Play and Apple App Store for download. Once you have it downloaded to your smartphone, you can choose to either create your amber profile or skip it for the time being (you will need an amber account if you wish to shortlist a property or chat with the property managers).

With the amberstudent app, you can book your student housing in three simple steps: Search, Shortlist, and Book

STEP 1 - Discover

The amber student app allows you to search and discover properties based on the city you want it in, the university you need to be closer to, or the name of a specific property. Simply search with the city name or university name (if you aren’t sure about the property) the way you would search on Google. If you have a property in your mind that you prefer, simply search for the name in the search bar.

Your search query will return the list of properties in the city, near your university, or the specific property. Click on the property that interests you and view all the details relating to that property.

STEP 2 - Shortlist

With every property listed on the amber student app, you get detailed information on nearby universities, restaurants, commute options, room types, and, of course, the cost of each room type.

These are great parameters to base your property selection on. Look up what amenities each of the properties near your university has to offer. Think of what facilities you will require in your student housing.

Shortlist the properties that meet your top requirements. You can go back to them in the “Shortlist” tab of the amber student app. Now that you have narrowed your search down to the shortlisted ones, it should be easier to select the property in the locality of your preference.

STEP 3 - Book

When you have a list of properties shortlisted, select the one that fits your criteria based on its distance from your university, your budget, and the amenities it offers. Select the room type and tap on “Book Now”. 

Fill in your details and tap on “Enquire”. The amber representative will get in touch with you to take you through the student accommodation finalising process. Additionally, you can ask any question related to your student housing to the amber executive.
