  • Cooling Off Period
    Once the lease is signed, you are entering into a legally binding contract with responsibility for all associated costs due and payable throughout its term.

    Security Deposit

    To jumpstart the leasing process and guarantee your space, you will need to make a $500 Security Deposit. Security deposits are returned after move-out provided there are no outstanding balances or applicable move-out charges. If any amounts remain owing, the security deposit will be applied toward those charges before any remaining balance is refunded.

    Booking Deposit

    $100 non-refundable Application Fee payment following the completion of your Housing Application.

    Pay In Instalment

    All rental installments associated with your Lease Agreement are due and payable on the 1st of each month. Note some Lease Agreements may begin or end mid-month, and so additional pro-rated installment(s) of a higher or lesser amount may be added to the first or last installment payment on your Residence Agreement.

    Guarantor Requirement

    Yes! An individual who will take on financial responsibility on a resident’s behalf is required in order to lease at Centennial Place Student Residence. Guarantors can be domestic or international and must provide employment details.

    What is Centennial Place Student Residence?

    Centennial Place Student Residence is an all-inclusive, on-campus student residence for post-secondary students attending Centennial College. It offers spacious urban-style suites, modern amenities, and a secure, welcoming living environment.

    Who lives at Centennial Place Student Residence?

    A diverse community of both Canadian and international students live at Centennial Place Student Residence. Located in Scarborough, the residence is part of a vibrant multicultural community.

    What type of accommodations are offered?

    Centennial Place Student Residence offers shared accommodation in 2-bedroom, 3-bedroom, and 4-bedroom suite layouts. Roommate matching services are also available.

    Is dining service provided?

    All suites include a fully equipped kitchen. Residents also have access to on-campus dining options, including The Local Café and Restaurant, as well as shared community kitchens throughout the building.

    Do you allow pets?

    Only approved service animals and emotional support animals are permitted. Management approval is required.

    What is renter's insurance, and do I need it?

    Yes. Personal Property Insurance (Renters' Insurance) is mandatory for all residents. It helps protect personal belongings such as laptops, electronics, and textbooks against theft or damage. It also typically includes personal liability and additional living expense coverage in certain situations. Residents can meet this requirement by:
    • Purchasing tenant insurance from any provider and submitting proof of coverage.
    • Enrolling in the residence's group insurance program. If valid third-party insurance is not provided, coverage is automatically applied, and a monthly insurance fee is added to the resident's account. Residents may opt out at any time by submitting valid proof of third-party insurance.

    Do you offer roommate matching?

    Yes. After signing the Lease Agreement, residents can create a profile through the residence's roommate matching platform to find compatible roommates based on personal preferences. This service is available for the Fall season only, and room assignments may change.

    Does Centennial Place Student Residence accept packages on my behalf?

    Yes. Standard packages can be collected from the Luxer One package lockers after notification. Oversized packages can be picked up from the front desk after receiving an email notification.

    The residence is located on Centennial College's Progress Campus and also accommodates students attending Morningside, Ashtonbee, and Story Arts Centre campuses. Approximate distances:

    How can I apply?

    To begin the application process, complete the online Housing Application by selecting "Apply Today" on the residence website.

    Where do I indicate my suite preference?

    Suite preferences are selected during the Housing Application. While preferences are considered, availability cannot be guaranteed.

    When can I apply?

    Applications are accepted year-round on a first-come, first-served basis. Available lease terms may vary depending on the time of year. Submitting an application alone does not guarantee a space. To secure a room, applicants must:
    • Complete the Housing Application.
    • Pay a $500 Security Deposit.
    • Pay a $100 non-refundable Application Fee.
    • Ensure both the applicant and guarantor sign the Lease Agreement.
    The Security Deposit is refunded after move-out, provided there are no outstanding balances or applicable move-out charges. Any unpaid charges will be deducted before the remaining balance is refunded.

    Do I need to make a deposit?

    Yes. To secure your space, you must pay:
    • $500 Security Deposit
    • $100 non-refundable Application Fee
    For lease renewals, both the Security Deposit and Application Fee are transferable to the new lease term.

    What is included in the rental installment?

    The rental installment is all-inclusive and includes:The full cost of your suite and provided furniture. All utilities, including water, electricity, and internet. Eligibility to participate in all Residence Life events. 24/7 access to all residence amenity spaces.

    Are there any additional costs outside of the rental installment?

    No. Centennial Place Student Residence is an all-inclusive community. The only additional cost may be parking if you choose to obtain parking through Centennial College.

    Am I guaranteed a bedspace?

    No. Rooms are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Completing a Housing Application alone does not guarantee a space. To secure a bedspace, you must:Complete the Housing Application. Pay a $500 Security Deposit. Pay a $100 non-refundable Application Fee. Ensure both you and your guarantor have signed the Lease Agreement.

    Is there a waitlist?

    Yes. Once the residence reaches full capacity, applications are accepted for the waitlist.

    How will I know if Centennial Place Student Residence received my payment, application, or lease?

    You will receive an email confirmation within 24–48 hours after submitting your application. You may also request confirmation that your application and/or signed Lease Agreement has been received.

    When can I move into Centennial Place Student Residence?

    Your move-in date is the start date listed on your Lease Agreement. Additional move-in information—including your arrival date and time, required documentation, packing guidelines, roommate matching, renter's insurance, and other move-in details—will be communicated in the months leading up to your move-in.

    Are accessible suites offered?

    Yes. Centennial Place Student Residence offers AODA-compliant accessible rooms designed to accommodate students with different abilities. Applicants should indicate their accessibility requirements during the application process. Please note that accessible features are available in select units only.

    Is there furniture in my room?

    Yes. Every suite and bedroom is fully furnished. For a detailed list of furniture included with each suite type, please refer to the Floorplans page.

    What types of belongings should I bring?

    Residents can pre-order move-in essentials such as bedding, towels, cleaning supplies, and organizational items through My Dorm Store. Before move-in, residents also receive a detailed Move-In Guide outlining what to bring and what to leave behind.

    Can I bring a mini fridge?

    No. Personal mini fridges are not permitted, as every suite includes a full-size refrigerator shared among roommates.

    What should I bring with me?

    For a complete list of permitted and prohibited items, residents should review the Move-In Guide provided before move-in.

    Can I bring my own mattress?

    No. Residents are not allowed to bring their own mattresses. Those requiring additional comfort or support are encouraged to bring a mattress pad or memory foam topper.

    Is the all-inclusive Wi-Fi unlimited?

    Yes. Unlimited high-speed Wi-Fi is included as part of the all-inclusive utility package, providing reliable internet access for studying, communication, and entertainment.

    Is kitchenware provided?

    No. Kitchens are not supplied with kitchenware. Residents must bring their own items such as cutlery, plates, drinkware, and cooking utensils.

    When do I have access to the amenity spaces?

    Residents have 24/7 access to the residence's amenity spaces unless otherwise specified by Management. Residents are expected to observe quiet hours. Additional details are provided in the Resident Handbook before move-in.

    What if something needs to be fixed in my suite?

    Maintenance requests can be submitted through the "Submit a Work Order" option on the homepage or via the Resident Portal. Requests are sent directly to the Maintenance Team.

    Is parking available?

    Yes. Surface parking is available in Lot #1. Parking permits can be purchased through Centennial College Parking Services.

    What is Residence Life?

    Residence Life focuses on supporting students' academic success and personal development through programming centered on:

    The program is supported by on-site management and staff to help residents succeed both personally and academically.

    Who comprises the Residence Life team?

    The Residence Life team includes a full-time Residence Life Coordinator (RLC) and Resident Assistant (RA) student staff who live on-site.

    What if I have a roommate conflict?

    Residents experiencing roommate conflicts should first speak with their Resident Assistant (RA). If additional support is needed, the Residence Life Coordinator (RLC) or Management will assist in resolving the issue.

    What mental health services are available?

    Residents have access to mental health programming and a free 24/7 Student Assistance Program through keep.meSAFE. The residence also hosts wellness initiatives throughout the year to promote student well-being.

    Do you provide proof of residence?

    Yes. Residents should contact the Leasing Office for more information.

    I am waiting on a visa. Can I still apply and lease?

    Yes. Students who have received acceptance from Centennial College may apply and secure their space while waiting for their visa.

    Are there other international students at Centennial Place Student Residence?

    Yes. The residence is home to a diverse community of both Canadian and international students.

    I don't have a Canadian bank account. What do I do?

    International students can open a Canadian bank account online (if eligible) or after arriving in Canada. Required documents typically include a study permit or visa, passport, proof of school registration, and expected graduation date. The residence accepts cheque, money order, and online credit card payments.

    I am an international student but can't access the Prospect Portal (application). What do I do?

    International students who cannot access the Prospect Portal can use the alternative application process provided by the residence to secure accommodation.

    Is a guarantor required?

    Yes. A guarantor is required for every lease. Guarantors may be domestic or international and must provide employment information.

    What kind of security is provided?

    The residence offers:
    • Secure card-access entry.
    • 24/7 staffed front desk and security.
    • Security cameras in common areas.
    • Professional on-site management.
    • Fire sprinklers and detectors.
    • Electronic suite locks.
    • Individually locking bedroom doors.

    What transportation options are available?

    The residence is located on Centennial College's Progress Campus and is served by TTC and GO Transit. Direct transit connections are available to all Centennial College campuses, and staff assist residents in identifying the most efficient travel routes.

    What are the policies on smoking?

    The residence is smoke-free in all indoor areas and within 9 metres of any building entrance or exit.

    What is the alcohol policy?

    Residents must comply with Ontario's legal drinking age of 19 years. Alcohol may only be consumed inside a resident's unit and is not permitted in hallways, lounges, lobbies, or other common areas.

    Does Centennial Place Student Residence permit guests?

    Yes. Guests are permitted with the consent of roommates and subject to residence policies. Overnight guests are allowed within specified limits. Residents are responsible for the behaviour of their guests and must ensure they comply with the Community Standards.
