Irish institutions have ongoing talks with over 30 universities in India. These partnerships include research in various areas like engineering, law, social sciences, computer science, and hospitality. 

Ireland’s higher education institutions offer an extensive 5000+ programmes which lead to internationally recognised qualifications. Ireland also looks to offer various opportunities to Indian students and their departments to find students according to their capacity and requirements to study in Ireland for international students. 

The bilateral relationship between Ireland and India has increased drastically over time. In terms of academic ties, Ireland universities for international students have also increased after the ongoing talks between Irish universities and Indian institutions. As Ireland has recently launched Global Citizens 2030, this talent and innovation strategy aims to ensure Ireland is a first-choice destination for international students and researchers from India and other countries. 

Over the past decade, Ireland has seen many Indian students coming to Ireland. The numbers rose from a mere hundreds to over 7000 in 2022. Approximately 14 Irish Universities have set up offices with local representatives in Major cities like New Delhi, Mumbai, and Hyderabad. The University College Dublin recently signed an MoU with the Vellore Institute of Technology in order to give student exchange, academic research, and much more a needed boost.
