Melberry Developments and Moorfield Real Estate Fund V of the UK real estate fund is about to develop a Purpose Built Student Accommodation in the East Midlands as per the latest PBSA news. The funding for the £42m (€38.6m) student accommodation in the UK for university students will see a sigh of relief once the project is complete.
The agreement is second in investment by the group with Melberry. Both entities entered into similar purpose-built student accommodation market investment in a PBSA development with 282 rooms at the University of Essex, Colchester. Enso as it is popularly known, was constructed in July.
For Zenor Partnership, this was the second delivery of an investment in a PBSA student accommodation as well. Previously, Moorfield Group and the Funding House agreed to build the Apiary, a co-living space in Ealing, West London. The building was completed by the February of 2022.
According to Charles Ferguson-DavieMoorfield Group’s CIO, “The investment for two decades in the UK student housing market has shown great resilience for investors. Investors from around the world are keen to invest in the undersupplied sector as it provides low-risk returns and perennial income streams.”
He also adds, “We see a market opportunity in new-build development and refurbishment of existing stock, with both strategies responding to investor demand for high-quality assets with leading ESG credentials.”
The comment from David Sarson, MD, Mulberry Development Management, reads, “It is delighting to deliver the second scheme with Moorfield Group. The Enso, has earned accolades for being one of the most sustainable student accommodations in the PBSA market.”
The Funding House founder, Tim Attlee, says, “It is a great joy to have completed the second transaction with the Zennor Partnership and that the scheme comes with some exemplary promises in the future.”
He further adds, “The joint venture has been designed to provide funding solutions to leading residential development partners, enabling the delivery of best-in-class assets in a sector that is central to institutional investment portfolios.”
