New Controversial Australia Student Visa Rules Announced

Australia's federal government is about to initiate major changes in the international student visas Australia. According to the latest news about student visa, the government is about to announce the changes very soon post the review of the immigration system. 

The crackdown comes amidst the ongoing exploitation of international student visas in Australia by immigrants.

According to Jason Clare, Education Minister, and the latest PBSA news, the looming changes are anticipated to come to light by the third of the October 2023. This will help stop the practice of using student visas for working instead of studying. 

The immigration system review was commissioned by Clare O’Neil, Home Affairs Minister. The review was taken up by Christine Nixon (Victoria Police) and is about to lead to many reforms. 

As per reports, the review was commissioned in lieu of the ongoing exploitation of the visa system and human trafficking.

Clare says, “ The changes are important as they will help protect the education industry.” 

He also said, “The crackdown is important because of the dodgy agents exploiting students for money.” And "International education is a key asset for this country, it's the biggest export we don't dig out of the ground." he added.

As per Clare, implementation of changes have been done to crackdown on potential exploitation of international student Visa. According to Australia student visa new update, students are banned from enrolling in two courses at the same time in the first six month on the Australian soil.   

This new student visa update australia would “tighten the screws”, says Clare. Clare also stated “Students get approached for enrolling in vocational courses and once they drop out, the international student visas Australia are misused just to work.”
