Frequently Asked Questions

What payments do I have to make?

To make the reservation you must pay the membership fee and the guarantee. If your country is on the European Commission’s list of strategic deficiencies in the prevention of money laundering and terrorist financing or has difficulties with currency transfers (such as Egypt, Libya and Turkey), you will be asked to provide an additional guarantee as a precautionary measure.
The amount of the guarantee will be returned at the end of the stay if there are no damages caused by misuse of the facilities in your apartment.

Can I cancel my booking after payment?

It would be a pity, but you can cancel your reservation up to one month before the arrival date. Of course, you will lose the membership fee.
They will refund the amount of the guarantee by bank transfer to the account that you indicate. Remember that you will have to assume the possible bank commissions of the transfer.
Cancellations less than one month in advance imply the loss of 100% of the amount paid.

What payment methods can I use?

  • You can pay by credit card
  • By direct debit

Does the guarantee apply to the monthly rent?

They know that in the midst of all the payments and moves, doubt can creep in. But quick heads up: the guarantee is not your rent for the month. It is not a payment for use, but a guarantee that they ask you for in advance. It’s just a “just in case” that they keep and return to you at the end. The monthly rent, on the other hand, is the monthly payment for the use of the property.
*Remember that the guarantee and the rent are different and cannot be substituted for each other.

What appliances and furnishings does the flat have, and what should I pack in my bags?

Their flats are fully equipped. After all, you will be in your own home. The rooms have a set of courtesy bedding (duvet, pillow, sheets and towels). The kitchens are also fully equipped (they were advised by Masterchef). In short, if you bring a full suitcase it is because you want to.

Where do I pick up my keys in Barcelona?

They offer several Paris Hilton style alternatives:
  • You can arrange someone to wait for you at the apartment door (sorry, but Lady Gaga, Rosalía and Bad Bunny are not available), who will take you into your awesome flat and explain everything you need to know.
  • If you'd rather fly solo, you can collect the keys from their offices. They'll have a cuppa and a chinwag waiting.

When do I have to pay for the first month of my stay?

The first month of stay is paid between the 1st and 5th of each month.

What happens if I can’t arrive on the planned date?

Sometimes you might not be able to travel on the scheduled date due to personal reasons, forgetting to book your ticket or visa delays. In this case, if you want to keep your spot, you'll need to pay the rent. Otherwise, the company reserves the right to cancel your booking, and that would indeed be a worse pickle than forgetting to buy your ticket (boo hoo).

How do I pay my monthly rent?

You can pay the monthly rent between the 1st and 5th of each month in your internal area with a credit card.
If you have chosen direct debit, it will be debited directly from your account.

What are the co-living rules for my flat?

To ensure good vibes in the flat, with everyone ending up eating pizza and watching a film, they have a few rules that everyone must follow. You can check them out here.

What if I want to change flats?

Well, your flatmates will be sad, but you will only have to pay 75eur for the change.

Can I have visitors over?

Yes, but they can’t spend the night (they know that everyone wants to be a Cotowner). To avoid irking your flatmates and waking up with shaving cream on your face, your visitors shouldn't stick around past 10 p.m. Always check with your flatmates before inviting friends or family over to your shared flat.

What if there’s an issue in my flat?

Their maintenance department will sort out any issues within a reasonable timeframe. If a breakdown is due to improper use, then the responsible Beginner will have to foot the repair bill.

Who’s in charge of cleaning?

As they've given Mary Poppins the boot, property will arrange for your pad to be spruced up periodically. Remember that you Beginners are responsible for keeping everything tidy and the kitchen and utensils clean. You are also responsible for washing your own clothes, sheets and towels. A washer and dryer are provided for this purpose, free of charge. Try not to ruin your Tinder date by mixing colours and whites.

What do I have to do when I leave?

They make it easy for you, you must leave the keys on the table in your room and close the door.

What if I have to leave earlier than expected?

If for any reason you must leave your footstep before the end of your rental contract and you notify them one month in advance of the new departure date, the amount of the guarantee will be returned (they will discount the difference in the amount of a rent longer to a shorter one if applicable).
If you notify less than a month in advance of the new departure date, the guarantee will not be refunded.

When and how will my deposit be refunded?

Your guarantee will be returned by bank transfer from your departure date after checking that there are no damages.
