Early Aspirations and Challenges

Going back to Gideon’s childhood, he was surrounded by a healthcare system that worked tirelessly but often struggled against the odds. He witnessed mothers fighting for quality maternal care and communities fighting for basic sanitation and environmental issues. It was in 2018 when he decided to enroll in a Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management at the University of Cape Coast, Ghana. Through his studies, he gained invaluable insights into healthcare data management, research methods, and project management, deepening his appreciation for the field. Hands-on experiences during his internships at Cape Coast Teaching Hospital, Konongo Odumasi Government Hospital, and Asante Akyem Central Municipal Hospital further enriched his academic journey.
