For the second invoice, you will be billed a pro-rated amount until the last day of the month. After that, all future months will be billed from the first day of the month to the last day of the month. On average, the pricing for a bedroom is around $950, but depends of the city. On top of the monthly rent, they ask for a deposit of 1-2 month's rent which they return to you once you move out.
You can do pretty much what you want in your room as long as you do not damage walls, floors or other surfaces and return your bedroom to the state in which you found it.
