About City College of New York

The City College of New York was founded in 1847 as the Free Academy of the City of New York, created to offer high-quality education to children of immigrants and the working class, based on merit, not money. CCNY continues to stand out for its commitment to academic excellence and affordable education. With more than 16,000 students from over 150 countries, the campus reflects the global energy of New York City and offers a welcoming, diverse community for learners of all backgrounds. Beyond academics, students enjoy a lively campus life with more than 100 clubs. The CCNY athletics department supports 16 varsity sports teams of the most popular sports in the US, a modern fitness center, and spaces dedicated to collaboration and creativity. You can download the CCNY campus map from the college’s website before your visit.
