Still, there's no preference order, and your chosen institutions won't know where else you've applied until you reply to any offers you receive when you apply with UCAS. However, there are certain subjects, such as medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, or veterinary science, where you can only apply to a maximum of four courses in any of those fields. It's important to note that you can add more choices later, but you cannot exceed five.

Most undergraduate applications must be submitted by 6 p.m. UK time in late January 2027. The "equal consideration" deadline is the name given to this date and the UCAS application deadline. Due to the equal consideration deadline, course providers must treat all applications equally. Although they are not required to do so, schools and universities may do so if there are openings after the deadline has passed and the applications submitted on time have been taken into account. The deadline to apply for 2027 admittance to Oxford, Cambridge, or a programme in medicine, dentistry, or veterinary medicine was mid-October 2026. Universities and colleges could consider taking in applications after the due date, but any applications not submitted by late June 2027 at 18:00 will automatically be entered into Clearing with the UCAS clearing system.

UCAS Application Fees 2026-27
