With the UCAS 15th October application deadline now passed, the UK has released visa clearance data for October 2025. In light of policy shifts, this latest analysis by amber reveals the updated UK-sponsored study visa clearances.

UK Sponsored Study Visa Clearances: October ‘25

As of October 2025, UK-sponsored study visa clearances for main applicants showed a downward trend of -6.74% as compared to October ‘24, exhibiting a dip from 8,900 to 8,300.

This year has recorded strong growth in February (+75.68%), March (+64.58%), April (+54.17%), and September (+10.42%), following a -1.47% dip in August.

UK Dependent Visa Clearance: YTD Oct’25

Dependent visa clearances witnessed a reduction of -7.69% in October 2025, with 1,200 clearances as compared to 1,300 dependent visas in October ‘24.

Year-on-year, there has been a decrease of -1.05%, with 18,900 dependent visas YTD October 2025, as compared to 19,100 visas till October ’24.

Wrapping It Up

The October 2025 visa clearance data reflects a shifting landscape shaped by ongoing policy adjustments and evolving student mobility patterns. While main applicant clearances show a modest October dip, the broader YTD trend remains positive, supported by strong gains earlier in the year.
