The accommodation is apt for students studying at the Darmstadt University of Applied Science which is a 5-minute walk and the University Darmstadt University of Applied Science which is 10 minutes away on foot.

Can I choose who my roommates are?
You can live with your friends if you choose the same apartment number when booking. Please note that this offer is subject to availability. So it's best to book early to avoid disappointment!
What is a bank guarantee and why do I need one?
A bank guarantee is a bank's promise to pay off a debt. To issue this certificate, you need to pay a certain fee to the bank. In the event of a claim, the amount will be paid to the beneficiary on first demand. The bank guarantee must be issued by a German bank and there are certain requirements that must be met. For more details please contact the sales team.
Do I have to be a full-time student to book a room?
We normally only accept full-time students, but we may be able to accommodate you. Get in touch with the student residence that interests you to discuss your options.
Is there an age limit for booking?
In order to live with us during your studies, you must be at least 18 years old.

Can I personalize my room?
As long as you are able to return it to its original condition upon check out, you will be charged for any damages.

Smoking is not permitted in your apartment, but you are welcome to smoke outside.
Can I put a fridge in my room?
Additional refrigerators are only permitted in your room if they are intended for storing prescribed medication.
Can I bring a pet?
We love fluffy animals, but we do not allow our renters to bring pets into the building.
Are there any free rooms for visitors?
No, unfortunately our halls of residence are packed with fun-loving students every year.
Are there social events for residents?
We host social events for you and your roommates throughout the year, from spiritual and cultural gatherings to fitness events and more.
Can I change rooms if I don't get along with my new roommates?
We want to make sure you enjoy staying with us. Therefore, if you find that you do not get along with your new roommates, it is possible to change rooms, subject to availability. Contact your local team for more information.
What happens if something breaks or doesn't work in my apartment?
Our friendly maintenance team is always on hand if something breaks or doesn't work in your apartment. Simply fill out a maintenance request form and hand it in at reception.
Can I invite friends or family to my place?
We recommend that friends and family only stay a maximum of 2 or 3 nights and that you let your roommates know before they arrive.
Are the common areas always open?
You can reserve some of the common areas in our properties, but most of our common areas are open 24 hours a day unless other hours are announced.

Yes, we offer high speed broadband and WiFi as standard in all rooms and it is also available in our common rooms and areas.
What appliances are in your apartment upon arrival?
Which devices are included in your apartment depends on the type of room or accommodation you book. Visit our dormitory pages for more information or contact our dormitory team.
Where do I wash my laundry?
We have a laundry facility on site that you can use at any time during your stay.
What equipment is there in the gym?
Units that have a gym are equipped with free weights and/or strength-training machines, cardio machines, and yoga mats. Some of our homes also have fitness rooms with more specialized equipment or dance and yoga studios!
Can I have packages delivered to my building?
Our reception team is always on hand to take your packages and signed shipments so you don't miss a delivery. We'll also send you an email reminder when your package is ready for pickup.
Can we get a cleaner?
In some of our student apartments, the kitchen and living area are cleaned weekly or bi-weekly, but in others you have to maintain your common areas and rooms yourself. All of our common areas are cleaned regularly.
How secure is the bicycle storage room?
Most of our bike storage facilities are located within our secure buildings, so only residents have access. However, in some halls of residence, our bicycle parking spaces are located off campus and away from the main roads if possible. In any case, we recommend a secure bicycle lock for additional security.
Is there student parking on site?
Some of our properties have on-site parking that you can use during your stay with us. Check out our dormitory pages or contact us for more information.
moving day
Can I move in before the start of the contract?
In many cases we can accommodate early move-in at a daily rate, but you will need to check this with the residence team.
What documents do I need to check in?
When you check in with us, we require a copy of your ID. We also recommend that you bring a printed copy of your rental agreement with you and the guarantee forms you have signed.
When can I arrive on the moving-in day?
Some of our properties allow you to move in anytime on certain days, while others have a time slot. We will be in touch with you shortly before your move-in date to give you more information!
Where can I park while unpacking?
As your move-in date approaches, we'll contact you to let you know where you can park nearby to unload your belongings.
Is it okay if I arrive outside opening hours on the day I move in?
If you need to arrive outside of opening hours, please let your residence support team know as early as possible to ensure we can assist you.
Rent and Lease Agreements
Are there any additional bills I need to pay?
This fee is a one-off, non-refundable fee of €50 to cover administrative costs related to processing your application to stay with us.
Can I sublet my room for the summer?
No - unfortunately we do not allow students to sublet their rooms during their contract with us.
Can I move out earlier?
Yes - if you find someone to rent your room you can contact your dormitory support team to discuss the details.
Safety measures
Is there always a member of staff available on site?
Our goal is for our staff to be there for you 24 hours a day. So if you have a concern, a member of our team can help you day or night.
How secure is the property?
Most entrances to our accommodation are access controlled and under video surveillance 24 hours a day and all apartment doors are key controlled. We also strive to always have a team on site should you ever need additional support.
Is home insurance included?
Yes, contents insurance is included with your rental agreement, so your belongings are protected during your stay with us. You will receive more information about this upon check-in.
Is the building regularly checked for fire protection?
The safety of our students is very important to us. We conduct regular fire alarm tests and fire safety inspections in all of our residences.
International Students
Can I stay over the summer holidays?
Some of our student residences offer summer rentals as well as lease extensions, but this is subject to availability. For more information, please contact your dormitory team or find out more here.
What do I do if I have booked a room but cannot get a visa?
Please contact your support team who can cancel or reschedule your rental agreement, whichever is best for you.
Do I have to bring my own bed linen?
Yes - we do not provide linens in our apartments as we find that students like to personalize their rooms. Please note that this may vary for summer bookings. Contact our accommodation teams for more information!
Will I be picked up from the airport?
Unfortunately we do not offer airport pick up service for international students. You must take care of your own arrival and departure.We normally only accept full-time students, but we may be able to accommodate you. Get in touch with the student residence that interests you to discuss your options.
