Monthly rent payments usually require a guarantor. A guarantor must be at least 18 years old and agrees to pay rent if the student cannot pay. Parents, guardians, and close relatives may act as guarantors. At most properties, guarantors must be UK-based, over 18 years old, and have at least one year of residence in the UK. Some properties may accept international guarantors. Yugo works with guarantor partners, including Housing Hand in the UK and equivalent services in other countries, where possible. Students should contact the on-site team to confirm whether an international guarantor is accepted. Yugo contacts the guarantor as a last resort if the terms of the tenancy cannot be met.
