1. It's a wonderful life

Liberty Films

In a mood to go back in time into the black/white era and cherish the old times? We have the perfect movie for you. It's a wonderful life is the kind of movie which will remind you that humanity is still alive and gives you a chance to look deep into not material things but what life is truly about.

Quote: "Strange, isn't it? Each man's life touches so many other lives. When he isn't around, he leaves an awful hole, doesn't he?"

2. Home Alone and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York

Home Alone and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York

20th Century Studios

We strongly believe that New Year will never feel like one if you don't watch the Home Alone series. This Family Comedy hit the theaters in 1990 and was considered an instant classic. Both Home Alone and Home Alone: Lost in New York probably every kid's dream and their parents worst nightmare.

Quote: "Will you please tell Santa that instead of presents this year, I just want my family back."

Also, don't forget to take a sneak peak at the 10 last-minute secret Santa gifts for students that they actually want!

3. The Holiday

The Holiday

Universal Pictures

Nancy Meyers is precisely what you need if you are looking for comfort and warmth when the chilly winters hit your doorsteps and the calendar year changes. Lose yourself by watching A Holiday and rekindle your faith in the fact that life can change its course just by making a few spontaneous decisions. Filmed in both California and England, the movie gives a shrill experience of closeness, bonding, friendship, and even the newly wave of feelings at one go!

Quote: "I need some peace and quiet… or whatever it is people go away for."

4. Love Actually

Love Actually

Universal Pictures

Despite its meme-able cue-card scene, love Actually isn't as sticky-sweet as its heartstrings-pulling reputation might imply. Richard Curtis (Notting Hill) is known for his sharp wit, ridiculous verbal puns, and intelligent banter. So do Liam Neeson, Laura Linney, Emma Thompson, and the late Alan Rickman, who all lend a touch of class and sorrow. A popular movie choice amongst netizens during the final countdowns of the New Year's Eve.

Quote: "Definitely go for England, girl. You'll meet Prince William - then you can marry him instead."

5. Little Women

Little Women

Columbia Pictures

If you find yourself away from your family this holiday season, for some reason. Little Women is the one movie you can watch to feel grateful and homely. The 2019 Greta Gerwig's heartwarming adaptation is entirely shot in the beautiful landscapes of Massachusetts and is ample to gut-punch you with emotions and make for an unforgettable experience. This movie will give you the warmth you need this holiday season.!

Quote: "When you feel discontented, think over your blessings, and be grateful."

6. Harry Potter & the Philosopher's Stone

Harry Potter & the Philosopher's Stone

Warner Bros. Pictures

If you've seen Harry Potter as a kid and never revisited the series after that, you're in for a treat! The first shot of Hogwarts will immediately mesmerize you, and the soundtrack by John Williams will bewitch you. This movie will kick you with just the right amount of nostalgia that you will cherish this holiday season.

Quote: "You're a wizard Harry!"

7. Elf

Elf

Warner Bros. Animation

Will Ferrell's overgrown-child demeanor hilariously compliments this comedy about a gigantic elf searching for his father in New York City, but the film isn't simply for laughs. The way the plot appreciates festive cheer has a lot of heart and soul.

Quote: "You have such a pretty face. You should be on a Christmas card."

8. Scrooged

Scrooged

Paramount Pictures Studios

'Fred Claus' and other Christmas-themed comedies' aren't enough of a lobotomy for you? Here's the flabby, pompous, overextended SNL sketch that originally made such films fashionable. Nonetheless, Bill Murray is brilliantly placed as an arrogant corporate T.V. executive who is about to receive some ghostly vengeance. This truly qualifies as one of the top Christmas movies ever made and even goes to jump your inner holiday spirit out!

Quote: "It's Christmas Eve! It's... it's the one night of the year when we all act a little nicer, we... we... we smile a little easier, we... w-w-we... we... we cheer a little more. For a couple of hours out of the whole year, we are the people that we always hoped we would be!"

9. Die Hard

Die Hard

20th Century Studios

Yes, we know what you may be thinking, Die Hard and Christmas? But hear us out! Few Christmas Eves are as awful as the one experienced by NYC officer John McClane (Bruce Willis), whose reconciliation with his estranged wife in an L.A. skyscraper is disrupted by a group of machine-gun-wielding terrorists. John McTiernan's crowd-pleasing action flick is the hard-R gift that keeps on giving, with killer set pieces and a memorable villain (Alan Rickman).

Quote: "You throw quite a party. I didn't realize they celebrated Christmas in Japan."
