Steps to Book IELTS Exam Dates

IELTS registration is a very easy process. Candidates must first select their location or nation to reserve their IELTS exam dates. Based on their preferences, the candidate may select from 48 different test dates offered throughout the year. Fill out the entire online application by following the instructions step-by-step. Booking Online Exam 

1. Visit the IELTS IDP website

2. Check the ‘Registration for IELTS now’.

3. Go to the box on the left side of the webpage, ‘Find test date. Enter a month, city, and module. 

4. This will lead to the IELTS Application: Check the test availability page.

5. Select the desired date and click ‘Apply’. 

6. The terms and conditions and declaration page will open.

7. At the end of the declaration, click ‘I agree’, then click ‘Confirm’. 

8. Provide all the necessary information on the form. Click ‘Continue’. 

9. Pay the fees online using a credit/debit card (Visa, Visa Electron, Mastercard)

10. The final confirmation page will appear, and an email will be sent to the provided email ID. 

Booking Offline Exam

1. Log on to the IELTS website. 

2. Select the option ‘Register for Test.’

3. Select your preferred test: computer-delivered IELTS or paper-based (IELTS, IELTS for UKVI, or Life Skills). 

4. Select your test type/module – Academic or General Training for IELTS, IELTS for UKVI, A1 and B1 for Life Skills (be extremely careful while choosing the module you wish to take).

5. Pick your preferred test location/city. Due to limited spots, it's crucial to book your test as early as possible to secure your preferred date and location.

6. Select your desired date and time slot from the list of dates available. 

7. Fill up the required details and complete your online application. 

8. Remember, you will also have to upload a clear, scanned colour copy of your passport to complete the process.

9. Proceed to pay the test fee. 

Computer Delivered IELTS Time Slots 

Most days of the month, you can access the IELTS computer test. Owing to the large number of IELTS registrations, the majority of IELTS testing locations provide candidates with a variety of test times throughout the day to select from based on their convenience. IELTS examinations would typically be held at most centres during one or both of the following time slots:

First Slot: 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Second Slot: 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Third Slot: 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Paper Delivered IELTS Exam Dates 2024

Hosted by IDP India, the IELTS paper-delivered exam is available up to 4 times a month, making a total of 48 fixed test dates in one calendar year. The IELTS paper-delivered exam (excluding the Speaking Test) is scheduled on Thursdays and Saturdays, allowing students to choose a test date according to their convenience. Students must refer to the paper-delivered IELTS test dates if they do not want to opt for the computer-delivered one.
