What is a guarantor and why do I need one?

A guarantor is someone who agrees to pay your rent if you can't. For example, one of your parents or a close relative. If you can't meet your rent payments, talk to your support team. We will only contact your guarantor to pay the rent as a last resort, if you cannot fulfill the rental agreement.

What do I do if I am an international student and I do not have a guarantee?

If you are an international student and would like to pay your rent in installments, you will need a guarantor who resides in Spain. If this is not possible, you can reserve a room; but you will have to pay the annual sum of your rent in advance.

Do I have to be a full time student to reserve a room?

We normally only accept full-time students, but we may be able to find a spot for you. Get in touch with the student residence you are interested in to further study your options.

Is there an age limit to book with Yugo?

To live with us while you study at university, you must be 18 years of age or older.

Can I personalize my room?

Where can I smoke?

We do not allow smoking inside the residence, but you can smoke outside.

Can I bring a pet?

We love "fuzzy" ones, but we do not allow tenants to bring pets into the building. Are there social events for the residents? We organize social events throughout the year for you and your roommates to enjoy; from cultural gatherings to fitness events and much more.

If I don't get along with my new roommates, can I change rooms?

We want to make sure you enjoy the experience of living with us, so if you find you don't get along with your new roommates, you may be able to change rooms, subject to availability. Contact your resident team for more information.

What happens if something in my flat breaks or doesn't work?

Our maintenance team is always available if something in your apartment breaks or doesn't work. All you have to do is fill out a maintenance request form and hand it in at reception.

Can I bring friends or family to stay?

Visits are allowed between 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. It is only allowed to sleep in the residence if it is the first degree of consanguinity (father/mother, brother/sister) and subject to the availability of the establishment.

Are the social spaces always open?

You can reserve some of the social spaces offered in our residence, but most of our common areas are open 24 hours a day, unless alternative hours are announced.

Is wifi included?

Yes, we offer high speed broadband and wifi in all rooms by default and also in our social spaces and common areas.

Where do I wash my clothes?

We have laundry facilities in the building for you to use whenever you need during your stay.

What equipment is in the gym?

Residences that include a fitness center in the building feature free weights or weight training equipment, cardio equipment, and yoga mats. Some of our properties also have fitness rooms with more specialized equipment or dance/yoga studios!

Can I receive packages in my building?

Our reception team is always available to collect your packages and certificates, so you never miss a delivery. We'll also send you an email reminder when your package is ready for pickup.

Will someone do the cleaning for us?

Yes, the cleaning of the rooms is once a week and the common areas are cleaned every day, several times. We change bed linen and towels once a week.

Is the bike parking safe?

Most of our bike racks are located within our properties, which are very secure, so only residents can access them. However, in some residence halls our bike storage is located on the outside of campus and, when possible, away from main streets. In all cases, we recommend using a secure bike lock for added security.

Is there student parking on site?

Some of our residences have on-site parking for you to use during your stay with us. Check our residence pages or contact us for more information.

Can I move before my lease starts?

In many cases, we can allow residents to move in earlier for a daily fee, but you will need to contact the residence team to verify this. What documents do I need to register in the residence? When you check in we will need to see a copy of your ID and we also recommend bringing a printed copy of your rental agreement.

What time can I arrive on the day of the move?

Some of our residences will allow you to move in at any time on the set days, while others will give you a time slot. We'll contact you closer to your move-in date with more information!

Where can I park when I'm unloading my stuff?

As your move-in date approaches, we will contact you to let you know where you can park near the residence to unload your belongings.

Can I get there after hours on the day I move in?

If you need to arrive outside of opening hours, please inform your residence's support team as far in advance as possible to ensure that we are available to assist you.

Do I have to pay additional bills?

Water, gas and electricity are included in the rent, so you don't have to worry about when to pay the bills for these services.

Can I sublet my room for the summer?

No. Unfortunately, we do not allow students to sublet their rooms during their contract with us.

Is there always a staff member available on the premises?

Our goal is to have staff available 24 hours a day, so if you ever need anything, a member of our resident team can assist you, day or night.

How safe is the residence?

Most of the entrances to our accommodation buildings have controlled access and are also monitored by CCTV 24 hours a day. Also, all apartment doors are opened with key/key. In addition, our goal is to always have resident support teams in the building in case you ever need extra help.

Is the building regularly inspected for fire safety?

The safety of our students is very important to us. We conduct fire alarm testing and regular inspections of fire safety practices at all of our residences.

Do I have to bring my own bedding?

No, bed linen and towels are provided by us and washed once a week.

Can you pick me up at the airport?

Unfortunately, we do not offer airport pick-up services for international students. You must make your own arrangements regarding the journey to and from the building.
