Comillas Pontifical Institution is a Catholic private university in Madrid, Spain. The Society of Jesus runs the university, known in Spanish as Universidad Pontificia Comillas. The university was established in 1890 by Pope Leo XIII. Fourteen years later, Pope Pius X empowered the university to provide academic degrees in canon law, theology, and philosophy.
