Frequently Asked Questions

Can I view the accommodation before booking?

Yes, you can. They offer in-person and virtual tours of the accommodation to help you find your perfect room. This will be coordinated with the on-site team at your chosen location. This is a great way to get a feel for the property, the team and the experience at property.

Are bills included in the rent of the property?

All bills are included in your weekly rent. They don’t hide any charges, the cost for the room and the deposit is all that you will be expected to pay. The water, gas, Wi-Fi and all other utilities are included in your rent. They have also added free laundry facilities to all of their accommodation.

When should accommodation be booked for September intake?

They recommend booking as quickly as possible to avoid disappointment. Their properties fill up fast! They also offer the option of waitlisting if you know where you would like to be the following year, this is perfect for students with deferred entry or 2nd and 3rd-year students. Their properties fill up at different times, so if you would like to list your interest, get in touch with us.

Does your accommodation have parking?

Parking is dependent on which property you are looking to live at.

Are group bookings allowed?

Group bookings are a great way to live with friends or people you’ve already connected with before starting university. When booking, make sure to tell us the name of your friends and They will allocate your accommodation together (subject to availability). If you have any other preferences, please mention these during the booking process and they will do their best to make these happen.

Can I bring my pet?

Unfortunately, They don’t allow pets at the property but some of their properties have furry friends that like to hang out nearby.

Do I need a TV licence?

Property has covered the cost of TV licences in the common areas so feel free to watch TV in the kitchen, living room and their common rooms but if you want to watch TV (including BBC on-demand) in your room you will need to purchase a TV licence. The fines are expensive so, They recommend applying for a licence.

Can my friend stay at my accommodation/in my room?

Your friends are more than welcome to visit you at your accommodation - They ask that you limit any overnight stays to no more than 3 consecutive nights in one week and make sure that your flatmates are happy with having your friends stay over.

Can I rent accommodation on a short term basis or over the summer?

Yes! They have a limited number of short term rooms and summer rooms available, please book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. They are popular with group bookings for language schools or nearby courses so booking early is advised to avoid disappointment.

I’m not happy with my accommodation, what should I do?

If you’re not happy with your accommodation please let the student team responsible for your property know as soon as possible. They want you to love living at PMG so please tell us the issue and the Property Manager will help, or if they can’t help, they will point you in the right direction. If you have a complaint, please visit their complaints policy on their website to learn more.

Something is broken, what should I do?

Please report any maintenance requests and They will ensure it gets repaired. They aim to have everything fixed as quickly as possible, but we’ll keep in touch to let you know what is happening and when.

What do I need with me/what should I pack?

Pack anything that will make your new home feel just like your old home. They include a mattress but you’ll need to bring your favorite bedding as well as pillows and a duvet. Many students include familiar photos in their packing to help them settle in and personalize their rooms. If you’re moving into a cluster They recommend waiting until you’ve met all your flat mates and then shopping together for items such as cutlery, crockery, and other household bits and bobs.

What is the cancellation policy?

While They hope that everything runs smoothly, They also understand that you may change your mind or have a change of circumstance. They allow a free cancellation up to 7 days after booking. Please get in touch with us to let us know if you think you may need to cancel.

How can I pay my rent?

They either accept full rent prior to arrival, in termly, or nine instalments by Direct Debit or by bank transfer. Paying by Direct Debit is quicker and easier, and allows ease in knowing that there won’t be any missed payments. You will need a UK guarantor for paying in instalments.

What if I do not have a UK based guarantor?

If you are looking to pay in monthly or termly instalments, you will need to appoint a UK guarantor. If you are paying in full at the time of booking you will not need one. If you do not have someone that you could nominate as a UK guarantor, you could use the services of Housing Hand who are able to help.
