Payment and Fees
Guarantor Requirement
A guarantor is required when paying rent by instalments (monthly or termly). A guarantor must be 18 years or older and accept joint financial responsibility for the tenancy. The guarantor is liable for unpaid rent if the resident fails to make payments. Residents paying the full rent upfront may not require a guarantor. For Germany, a bank guarantee issued by a German bank may be required. The guarantee must meet Yugo's specified requirements. Students should contact the Sales Team for further details.
Mode Of Payment
SEPA direct debit mandate through the student portal. Credit card. Bank transfers are not accepted.
Booking Deposit
A €50 booking fee is payable at the time of booking, to confirm the booking.
Security Deposit
The security deposit is €1,000 for stays of six months or less. For stays of more than six months, the security deposit is equivalent to three months' rent. A cash security deposit is required. An existing deposit from a previous tenancy may be carried forward to the new tenancy. The deposit may be replaced with an unlimited guarantee or deposit insurance from an eligible German provider. The deposit and a €100 admin fee are due approximately 12 days before the stay start date. The security must be provided before the tenancy starts. Deposit insurance is available through Garentii. The deposit may take up to 10 weeks after the tenancy ends to be settled. The landlord holds the cash deposit separately from other assets and returns it within a reasonable period after the tenancy ends.
Pay In Instalment
Option 1 – Monthly Instalments 12 equal monthly rent installments. Rent is payable at the beginning of each month. Option 2 – Pay in Full The tenant may pay the entire tenancy rent in advance no later than the third business day of the month in which the tenancy begins.
Additional Fees
A new EUR 100.00 expense allowance applies when changing apartments within the same residence. Failed direct debit charges are payable by the tenant. A EUR 10.00 fee may be charged for each written payment reminder, in addition to statutory late payment interest. The tenant must pay for any additional keys requested. The tenant is liable for minor repairs up to EUR 100.00 per repair, capped at 8% of the total tenancy rent and EUR 350.00 during the tenancy. A EUR 150.00 fee applies if a smoke detector alarm is triggered due to prohibited tampering.
