Envie is located in some of the most beautiful districts in Ottawa.
Envie Little Italy I and II are located in Little Italy, a block from the best shops and restaurants! Otherwise, downtown is a short walk or bus ride away. You will be surrounded by stunning views of Rideau Canal, Dow’s Lake and the Arboretum. Walk, bike or take transit almost anywhere you need to go.
Our newest location, Envie Rideau is located at 256 Rideau. Steps away from uOttawa and right next to the ByWard market where you can enjoy Ottaway’s food scene, listen to live music, and more! You can also experience Ottawa’s best shopping at the Rideau Mall right around the corner. Centrally located and similar to Little Italy you can walk, bike or take transit anywhere you need to go. I have a disability or medical condition and need special accommodations. Any resident who needs accommodation should notify them as soon as possible so that they can make you comfortable in your new home.

Do I need to have a roommate before I move in?

No roommate? No problem! they will place single students with other students based on the information and preferences you have indicated in their new roommate matching program!

Can I request a specific roommate?

Absolutely! All you have to do is indicate that you have a roommate you wish to live with.

Do I need a deposit?

We require first and last month’s rent upon signing the lease. The preferred payment methods are pre-authorized debit (PAD) or tenantpay.

How am I billed for my rent?

Your rent charge is visible in their resident portal. Preferred methods of payment are through PAD and tenantpay.

Are the suites co-ed?

That’s up to you! You get to choose whether you prefer to live in an all-female, all-male, or co-ed suite.

When can I move in?

Move-in schedules are provided during their busy season to ensure that it is a seamless and smooth process for everyone. Your leasing agent will stay in contact with you regarding your move-in date/time.

Can I smoke in my room?

No. Smoking is only permitted in designated areas located outside of buildings and must be at least 9 meters from any entrance. This includes smoking and vaping.

Can I have a pet?

Envie is not a pet-friendly building; however, service animals are exempt from this policy.

Are the suites furnished?

Yes, each suite comes fully furnished. The living room comes with a sofa or sectional, a side table, and a large flat-screen TV. The eat-in kitchen is fully equipped with stainless steel appliances (including a refrigerator, oven, microwave, and dishwasher), a table, bench, and chairs. The bedrooms come furnished with a double bed or single bed + mattress, nightstand, a desk, and a chair. Each suite includes a washing machine and dryer.

Do I need to bring cutlery, dishes, pots, and pans?

The suites come with a set of dishes, cups and cutlery, a toaster, a coffee maker as well as pots and pans. However, you must bring your cooking utensils (i.e. spatula, cheese grater, colander, can opening, etc).

Is there security in the building?

All common areas are monitored 24/7 using high-definition cameras. Front desk staff are also on-site 7 am to 11 pm and professional security monitors between 11 pm to 7 am.

Are there bike storage units on site?

Yes! they try to be as environmentally friendly as possible, and that means lots of secure bike racks.

Is there parking available?

Little Italy Location:
Underground parking is available upon request and for a fee. Otherwise, there is street parking available by the city of Ottawa.

Rideau Location:
We don’t offer on-site parking at this location, however, they have the following list of parking lots in the surrounding area that will provide this service.

What does Housekeeping service provide?

Envie offers complimentary housekeeping in the common space inside your suite every month. Staff will also be cleaning and disinfecting the building daily.

Can I get additional cleaning services?

We currently do not offer additional housekeeping. There is only regular monthly housekeeping for common spaces.

What if I need something in my suite fixed?

We have maintenance staff to fix issues related to each suite. Fill out a service request and their maintenance staff will address the issue. You will be given 24-hours notice whenever possible for any maintenance issues that require access to your suite. If it is an emergency, please call the reception desk so that they can have it addressed immediately.

Do I need tenant's insurance?

Yes, tenant’s insurance is required as per your lease. they have some local contacts for tenant insurance that they can pass on. Of course, you can get your own through your family’s insurance provider.

How do I meet people?
