To all our relief, the city provides an inexpensive transportation system by being a part of the well-known UK transportation network. Most student accommodation near Newcastle University provides excellent transport facilities and is very well-connected to the rest of the city.
1. Buses: Three of the main bus services in Newcastle include Arriva, Stagecoach and the Quaylink. Among these, Stagecoach Bus Services is the most predominant. It is possible to see a bus on every corner of the city because more than 150 buses operate continuously on the roads and highways.
2. Metro: The Tyne and Wear Metro, Britain's first light rail system in Britain, was built in Newcastle in 1980. You can easily reach the University from Newcastle Central Station using the Metro. Haymarket Metro station is opposite the campus and only two stops from Central Station. The campus is only a few minutes walk from the train station. You will also find a Taxi rank just outside the station.
3. Taxi: The Newcastle government has also made available to its residents a local taxi system that allows users to order cabs using mobile apps rapidly. The best thing about Newcastle's taxi system is that average fare prices are far lower than in nearby areas of the UK. Most Newcastle student accommodation is located near at least one taxi rank.
