Hotham Street is a beautiful student accommodation in Liverpool that has a variety of ensuite and studio apartments. The Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine and the Liverpool John Moores University are located within walking distance from the property, which makes it a perfect place to lead your college life.

Features

All the rooms in each of the apartments feature a large window that looks out to beautiful views. The plush beds are extremely cozy and would make anyone feel at home. The study desk has all the space one could need to store all their stationaries and books. The capacious wardrobe also adds to the storage space, for keeping all your important items. The private bathrooms come well-equipped with all the essentials. The shared kitchen also has all the appliances such as an oven, a microwave, and many more. The common amenities include high-speed Wi-Fi, a TV lounge and a games room, where the students can hang out with their friends. There are also laundry facilities where you can finish all your daily chores.

Location and What's Hot?

The location of the accommodation makes it a pretty happening place. Restaurants and cafes like Liverpool Palace Cafe and Los 3 Charros are close by. Various supermarkets are also very near which makes the accommodation extremely accessible and a comfortable place for the student to reside in. The weekends would never be dull in this location, the World Museum is extremely close and is relaxing and would help in unwinding for the week. Sketch Bar can also be an exciting and chill place to hang out with friends.

Commute

The location of the property makes it extremely easy to commute from one place to the other. St Georges Hall bus station or World Museum bus stop is just a couple of minutes walk away from the accommodation. The students can also choose to take a train from the Liverpool Lime Street train station to travel longer distances.

    Students who wish to extend their stay can contact the Amber team for renewal or rebooking at the same accommodation. Our team will support the renewal process and help students secure a suitable room of their choice. Students are encouraged to reach out early to ensure they can rebook the same room or another room of their choice at the same property.

    Early check-in requests can be shared in advance with the Amber team. Our team will do a feasibility check to facilitate early check-in requests based on room readiness and availability. Additional charges may apply where applicable.

    Security Deposit

    1. To secure a room student has to Pay a Security Deposit, in which one Week's rent will be holding deposit and it will be non-refundable. 2. The deposit will depend on the room type you select. The deposit might change due to availability, please get in touch with your amber agent to know more. 3. The rest of the security deposit will be refundable after inspection less any charges and deductions once the student moves out.

    Pay In Instalment

    1. If the Student has UK based guarantor the student can opt for monthly installment plans. 2. If the student does not have a UK-based guarantor, they can pay in 2 half-yearly instalments or pay the whole rent upfront.

    Guarantor Requirement

    To book a room UK-based guarantor is required if the student is paying in installments. To be eligible to act as your guarantor: 1. They must be residing in the UK and have a UK bank account. 2. You must provide the address of the guarantor and their proof of residence. 3. The guarantor whose details you provide must be able to guarantee the lower of:  The total sum of rent payable by you to your landlord over the period of one year; or The total sum of rent payable and Deposit by you to your landlord over the period of your tenancy if your tenancy is less than one year. In instances where you are not able to provide a guarantor situated in the UK, you will be required to pay 6 months rent or the whole rent upfront. Or you can use a private or public guarantor scheme

    Do I Pay Council Tax ?


    As you are a student, you should not pay Council Tax and you must remember to fill in this form as soon as you move into your new property.

    Do I need a TV License?


    Yes, a license is required to watch any programmes (even if you’re not watching on a TV)

    Who protects my deposit?


    Your landlord must protect your deposit using a tenancy deposit protection scheme. It must be a government approved deposit scheme!

    Is Wi-fi included?


    It depends on the property - it will be clear in the property description whether Wi-fi is included in the price. They also have partnered up with The Bunch to help you sort out yours bills.

    How much are bills?


    Landlords should be able to provide a rough idea of how much bills will be for the property. All-inclusive bills for properties is usually easier but more expensive than sorting them out yourself as there is a mark up or you pay a management fee. They can offer you a bills included package with every home on the platform

    Can I sub-let my room?


    Yes, the management platform allows subletting but make sure you have permission from your landlord! Or, ask them for advice.

    Do I have to pay a 12-month contract?


    Most of the landlords would prefer you entered into a 10-12-month contract. You can sublet through management when you’re not there if you’re strapped for cash. Some of the landlords are happy for shorter lets but please get in touch to ask whether that is the case!

    How much is a deposit?


    Typically, a deposit is one month’s rent. Or 3-5 weeks.

    What is a guarantor? Do I need one?


    Yes, you will need a guarantor. A guarantor is someone who agrees to pay your rent. For example, a parent or close relative. If you don't pay your landlord what you owe them, they can demand your guarantor to pay on your behalf. Please read your tenancy agreement or your separate guarantor agreements, which sets out the guarantor's legal obligations.
