The city is also crossed by historical boulevards and monuments along the major streets, notably in the upper districts; prominent examples include the Avenue of Liberty and the Avenue of the Republic.

Best Localities for Lisbon Student Accommodation

The daily necessities are enough to distress any student. Student housing, however, is one of the primary necessities for students. And because each student has different needs, most choose a student-friendly area to live in a while attending college. The amber website offers a variety of housing options for students. Regardless of the student accommodation you choose, you will be living in beautiful areas like Alvalade, Almeda, Marques De Pomba, Lumiar, Santa Cruz amongst others

Alameda

The large avenue (Alameda d. Afonso Henriques) that gives this region its name includes a very large garden with plenty of places to enjoy in Lisbon's beautiful weather and a kiosk-bar where you can cool off with one of the coolest — and cheapest — glasses of beer. Alameda, which has big condos, has become a favourite neighbourhood among students, particularly because it is close to the Instituto Superior Técnico (IST). Alameda is very well-served by public transportation, which can take you to other parts of Lisbon. If you use the Alameda metro, you may quickly get to more central districts of Lisbon as well as the airport.

Marquês de Pomba

Locals recognise Marquês de Pombal as the city's business district and a major transportation hub. You can get to any location in the city fast thanks to the intersection of two metro lines and over 20 distinct bus routes. Lisbon's starting point is the Marqués of Pombal. Student Travel Lisbon

Lisbon is a simple city to navigate despite all the hills and cobblestones, with an amazing and user-friendly system of buses, trams, and suburban trains, as well as an effective metro, making it simple to get between important areas of interest. The travel card can be used to access the metro as well as all buses, trains, boats, and trams that serve Lisbon and other cities. The Viva Viagem green card is accessible at ticket counters and vending machines at metro, train, and boat terminals for €0.50.

Metro

With four lines, Lisbon's effective metro system provides service to the airport, Baixa and Chiado, Mouraria and Alvalade, Saldanha and Campo Pequeno, and Baixa and Chiado (Yellow Line). It is simple to switch between lines because the Red Line crosses all three other lines.

Bus

Lisbon's bus routes are very straightforward, but because buses are one of the locals' preferred modes of public transportation, they often become busy.

Bicycle

Lisbon's city planners have worked very hard to increase the number of cycle pathways in an effort to make the city more bicycle-friendly. Download Gira, the official bike-sharing app of the Lisbon City Council, to locate a bike in the area. With numerous bike stations dispersed throughout the town, it is heavily used by both residents and visitors.

Another of Lisbon's most beautiful squares is Rossio. One of the most well-known restaurants in the city is Casa da India, followed by Tasco da Sé and Toma-Lá-dá-Cá. Despite its peaceful appearance, Lisbon is always brimming with reasons to leave the house, whether it is to spend time in the city or in the outside. If you decide to remain close to campus, you can take use of the amenities offered by the many universities, each of which has its own recreation and sports facility. Lisbon is known for Bairro Alto and uncommon forms of entertainment. On Bairro, a location known as Erasmus Corner attracts people. There are a lot of small bars and pubs. You should go inside, have a beer, and enjoy yourself with your pals outside while chattering and drinking it. Also, check out this blog to know about the top pubs in Liverpool.
