About the Property

Basic

The new Garb Student Residence is found in a privileged location, on Plaza de los Pases Catalanes, right by Sants Train Station in Barcelona, and next to Sants Bus Station.


From here, you can easily reach the historical part of Barcelona Plaza Catalunya, Paseo de Gracia, Las Ramblas, etc. as well as the University Zone, in just 10 minutes. Most of the University of Barcelonas faculties are found here, as well as our new residence it is called, Aleu University Residence.


Individual our double full-board rooms: these will be rooms for just one or two person, with a private bathroom and a kitchenette in the room itself. They will include full board service, with a top quality breakfast, lunch and dinner every day of the week, so you dont have to waste precious study time on cooking.


Individual rooms in a shared apartment: individual rooms, which also have a private bathroom and kitchenette, but in addition have a full kitchen that is shared with other students on the same floor. This category is for those residents who are more into cooking or prefer the freedom of making their food just how they like it.


All our residents, no matter which room category they choose, will be able to use and enjoy all the common areas, the services we offer at the residence, and will have absolutely all expenses included in the price of their room.

You can reach the UBs Library Sciences Faculty in less than 2 minutes from our new residence. The Polytechnic University of Catalonias Engineering Faculty is also very close, as well as other higher education such as the EAE Business School, Deusto Formacin and EU Business School, amongst others.

Whether you prefer to get around by bike or public transport, youll only need 10 minutes to get to the UBs Faculty of Medicine, the School of Public Relations and the IEBS Business School.

Who can live in the student accomodation?

 Residncia dEstudiants Garb admits students from all universities and educational institutions. There are also places for students of public service examinations. You can apply for your place from January for the following academic year 

What is the contract length?

It has a minimum stay of 1 academic year (9 months), normally from September of one year to the end of June the following year.

Can I stay in the summer?

Yes, although the contract extension is not automatic and it depends on summer groups. Request your summer stays as soon as possible.

Can I pay monthly?

Yes. The academic year fee can be spread into monthly payments by direct debit, but you can also make one single annual payment, well give you a 5% discount.

Do I get my security deposit back?

Supposing that you dont break anything, including the terms of the contract, yes!

What is included in the price of the residence?

Full-board, all utilities and the use of the common areas. Cleaning, bed linen and towels. Fibre-optic internet, CCTV 24h, maintenance and a lovely management team. In the apartments you can have full-board as an extra service.

What is not included in the price of the residence?

Your takeaway burritos, the laundry of your own clothes, photocopies and the car park.

Are the rooms mixed?

Our Residence is mixed (co-ed) but the rooms are not. In twin rooms of Residncia dEstudiants Garb, both residents must be the same sex.

Can I choose my room?

Tell us your preference and well try our best, but its a game of Tetris, we cant always guarantee it.

From when can I arrive?

You should arrive on the first day of your contract, but if you need to arrive earlier, you should ask us in advance.

What do I have to bring?

Your stuff! Your room is fully equipped but bring a network cable, your favorite photo, some hangers

What should I not bring?

Linens or Towels. Too many things nothing that makes a lot of noise.

Can I decorate my room?

If you leave it as you found it, there wont be any problems, otherwise we might have to charge for damages.

Can I bring pets?

Even though we love animals, no.



Is there a laundry room?

There are two types of washers and dryers. One works via App and you dont need washing powder or fabric softener; the other is coin operated and youll need to provide your own washing powder and fabric softener just in case like the smell of your usual brand!

Is there a mail service?

We will take your letters and packets. Note cautiously the policy concerning the mail service in the contract.

Have I got internet?

Yes. The Residence has a super-fast optical fiber broadband connection. In your room you have a cable connection and there is widfi throughout the building.

Can I have a party?

Not in your room. You should request permission to use the common areas. Anyway, well organize the parties as well!

Can I have friends stay?

Overnight guests are strictly controlled. You have to ask for permission and wait for confirmation from the building management. This must be planned in advance for this.

Can I park in the residence?

Yes and the garage has reduced prices for residents.

How can I let maintenance know of a problem?

You should tell us in reception.
