Queen Mary University of London is a public research university whose history traces back to the foundation of London Hospital Medical College in the year 1785. Named after Mary of Teck, Queen Mary College was incorporated by the University of London in 1915 and merged with Westfield College in the year 1989 to form Queen Mary and Westfield College. Later, the Queen Mary and Westfield College was also merged with St Bartholomew's Hospital Medical College and the London Hospital Medical College in the year 1995 to form the School of Medicine and Dentistry. Finally, the name was changed to Queen Mary, University of London in the year 2000 and in 2013, the name of the college was legally changed to Queen Mary University of London. The university is one of the U.K.'s leading higher education providers and is also a member of the Russell Group of British research universities, the association of Commonwealth and U.K. universities. The university is home to around 26,000 students and approximately 4,500 staff.

 Queen Mary University was ranked by the Q.S. subject rankings 2018 among the world's top 50 for its subjects like law, drama and English and according to the National student survey, Queen Mary was ranked second in London among Russell Group of universities for student satisfaction. In 2018/19 international university rankings, Queen Mary ranked 119th in the Q.S. World university rankings, 130th in Times Higher Education and 110th in U.S. News and World Report. Last but not least, the university was also ranked 38th by The complete university guide 2019, 46th by The Times/ Sunday Times 2019, and 83rd by the Guardian University. The university has produced many successful alumni including Dr Bruce Dickinson, Professor Carl Murray, Mr Dara Nasr, Dame Colette Bowe and many more. Harold Pinter was a renowned screenwriter, playwright, director, actor and also Associate Director of the National Theatre from 1973-1983. Harold was also awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in the year 2005. The Harold Pinter Drama Studio was named in his honour.

1) Mile End Campus -
