Located in Roehampton, south-west London, in the United Kingdom, the University of Roehampton is a public university which has its origins traced back to the four constituent colleges formed in the 19th century. The founding colleges of the institute include Whitelands College, Southlands College, Digby Stuart College and Froebel College which later on merged to form Roehampton Institute of Higher Education in the year 1975.

Roehampton Institute was formerly an equal partner in the now-dissolved Federal University of Surrey along with the University of Surrey in Guildford, however, in August 2004, the University of Surrey Roehampton became Roehampton University which was legally renamed as the University of Roehampton in the year 2011.

Catering a total of 10,000 students, the University of Roehampton offers both undergraduate as well as postgraduate programmes in a wide range of subjects out of which the University is highly regarded for its Biological Anthropology, Drama, Dance, and English Literature programmes. In addition to this, the Roehampton university also holds affiliations with The Cathedrals Group, European University Association, School of Pedagogical and Technological Education, Universities UK and Compostela Group of Universities.

Located on Roehampton Lane, London, the University of Roehampton's main campus is home to a state-of-the-art library and eight academic departments. The main campus of Roehampton University is well-connected to the city via public transport so the students will not experience any inconvenience while commuting. While the closest tube stations are Putney Bridge and Hammersmith, Barnes is the nearest train station from the campus which is merely a 10-minutes walk away. 

Situated in Holybourne Ave, Roehampton, the Whitelands College is home to two academic departments – the Ministerial Theology programme and Life Sciences and Psychology. It is just a 15-minute walk away from the main campus and is also easily accessible via public transport with the closest train station Barnes located within a short bus ride or 25-minute walk from the college. Also, there is free double-decker Roehampton shuttle bus which operates between Barnes station and university campuses.
