Yes, you will need to buy a TV licence for the property if any member of your group intends to watch or record programmes on any channel as they're being shown on TV or live on an online TV service or download/watch BBC programmes on iPlayer live, catch up or on demand. However, on a Joint Tenancy Agreement you will only need one licence per property.

Do we have to pay Council Tax?

Full time students are exempt from paying Council Tax. If you have recently left university or are not a full time student, you will be required to pay Council Tax.

How do we sign for a property?

Once you have decided on your ideal Sheffield student accommodation please call or email them. To secure the property of your choice you will need to complete the paperwork, this can be done electronically or in person at their office (please make an appointment for this).

What is your moving in procedure?

They will email you two weeks before your tenancy start date with details outlining their moving in procedure. The email has details on where to collect your keys on move-in day and how to collect them if you are moving in after this date. All your required tenancy documents will also be emailed to you prior to moving into the property. If you are moving into Broomhall Street, Cemetery Road or our Fairfield complex then you will be collecting your keys from the Fairfield Complex. If you are moving into Bramwell Court, The Albion or Portland Tower then you will need to come to their office to collect your keys, their office is located on the lower ground floor at Portland Tower.

What if we want to renew our contract for the following year?

Their current tenants are always given first refusal on all their properties. Therefore, if your group is thinking of staying on please contact them to reserve the property. However, if you forget don’t panic, they email all their current tenants asking if they wish to remain before they begin marketing the property for the following year.
