Do I need to be classified as a student for the entirety of my contract with the accommodation?

Yes, to be a resident at the accommodationyou need to have a current and valid student ID from the date you apply for your room and throughout your entire stay as per the dates on your contract agreement. Please contact reception if you have any questions.

Can I park on the street?

It is not recommended, as there is a two-hour parking limit in place where signed between 7am and 6pm, Monday to Friday. 

Do you have car parking facilities?

There are no car parking facilities available on-site.

Is there a monthly local paid parking option?

Yes, there is a new Royal Brisbane Car Park in 43 Butterfield street. The option is an unreserved bay that will offer 24/7 access to the carpark and will be charged at $199* per month in GST. There is not a firm opening date for this car park, however they are expecting the carpark to open late March 2022. As soon as the opening date is confirmed, they will provide you with an application form to commence the parking. You can also reach out to Bramston Terrace Carpark (it is located nextdoor to the accommodation) and see if they have availability. *Price correct as at 23.2.22.

Can I apply for a Resident Parking Permit via Brisbane City Council?

Unfortunately you will not be eligible for a Resident Parking Permit.

Can I hire a private carpark space?

You could look at a service provider such as ParkHound, which connects you with locals who wish to rent out their private car space. However, we strongly suggest that due to the limitations of parking in this local area that you utilise public transport or brig a bike, which you can secure and easily access in our bike storage unit.

Is there public transport nearby?

Yes, you are a 2 minute walk from the the accommodation which has regular services to locations.

What are your check-in times and days?

Residents may check-in Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.

Do you offer after hours check-in?

Unfortunately, we do not offer check-ins outside of specified check-in times.

Is internet/ Wi-Fi included in my rent?

Unlimited high speed wireless broadband is included in your rent. This is available in rooms and throughout common areas.

What does my rent include?

A fully furnished room, access to unlimited WIFI, use of all of our common areas and facilities including Gym and Movie area, and the ability to participate in our Residential life program.

Does this property have an application fee?

There is no application fee for the accommodation.

Do I need to pay a departure clean fee?

Yes you will need to pay a departure clean fee to ensure your room is back to the original standard.

What do I do if I, or my family need somewhere to stay prior to checking into the accommodation?

Can I have an extra guest stay over?

We don't permit anyone to stay at the property unless they are a resident with a current signed contract agreement.

Is an advanced rental payment required?

Advance Rent equivalent to four (4) weeks rent is required at the time of accepting the offer. This will go towards the initial rent payment. This payment is non-refundable, and also bond equivalent to four (4) weeks rent is required.

What do I need to buy before I can move in?

You will need your own bedding and personal kitchenware if that is your preference. Both can be purchased at your shop.

Is there extra storage outside my apartment?

There is no additional storage outside of your room.

Is there a laundry available for use?

Located on Level 1 of Lady Lamington North Tower, are card operated, shared laundry facilities with commercial washer/dryer and ironing facilities charged on a pay per use basis.

How close is the nearest supermarket?

The closest supermarket is a 15 minute walk, a 4 minute drive or an 11 minute (approx) bus ride.

Is there a kitchen in my room?

Kitchen and dining facilities are located on the accommodation. There are no kitchen facilities in the rooms.

Where can I find resources to manager my health and wellbeing?

The accommodation has listed a number of resources on our Student Health and Wellbeing page.

Do I need to organise my own contents insurance?

Yes however we have done the hard work for you. You can opt into the accommodation Contents Insurance listed on your Letter of Offer.

Do multi-share room rates cover everyone in the room or is the rate a cost per person?

The displayed room rate for all rooms is the cost per week, per person staying in the room.

Is there a bathroom in my room?

Secure bathroom facilities are located on each floor. There are no bathroom or wash facilities in rooms.

How can I make a reservation to stay for 2024?

You are now able to apply for your preferred room at the accommodation! 

•    Once they have received your application, they will contact you by email to confirm your reservation. At that time, you will be required to pay a booking deposit equivalent to 4 weeks' rent. The booking deposit will be part of your first rent payment.
•    Before you move into the accommodation, a bond equal to 4 weeks' rent will be required.
•    A cancellation fee of 4 weeks rent will apply to cancellations made less than 1 month before the start date of your lease (as per your letter of offer).
•    Your initial booking deposit can be made by Bank Transfer or with their reception team in person.
