Yes. To secure an apartment, the Tenant must pay a Security Deposit equivalent to 4 weeks rent. Prices vary depending on the room type.

Is there a cancellation fee once I have secured an apartment?

Yes cancellations with less than 2 weeks’ notice will incur a cancellation fee equal to 2 weeks rent.

Are car parking spaces available?

Car parking is available but spaces are limited. Bicycles are parked in a secure bike store room with camera surveillance.

Do I need to pay a departure clean fee?

Yes - The departure clean fee is $150 per room.

If I wanted to break my lease, what are the costs associated with this?

A signed contract is a legal commitment and not to be taken lightly. Therefore, there are serious penalties if you choose to end your lease early. For starters, your responsibility to pay rent continues until the rental contract ends or a new renter is found. Penalties also include advertising costs, and lease break fees. The decision to lease break could also prove damaging to your credit rating and rental record.

What utility costs am I responsible for?

Utility charges are included in your rent.

Who is the internet provider and how much do I have?

Unlimited internet is included in weekly rent for lease agreements that are 6 months or longer. The internet provider is Vostronet.

Do I need a mattress protector?

A FREE mattress protector is provided for you at commencement.

Do I need to organise my own Contents Insurance?

Yes, you will need to select an insurance provider that best suits your needs. This is not included in your rent.

What are your check-in times and days?

Residents may check-in Monday to Friday from 2pm to 4pm (except public holidays).

Do you offer after hours check-in?

Yes - by prior appointment.

What is the process for arranging an after hours check-in?

Please email reception at least five working days before the arrival/check-in date. Upon arrival, please call from the intercom located on the left side of the entry door and follow instructions. Our after-hours staff will come down to assist you.

What else do I need to do if I checked-in after hours?

In order to have access to an after-hours room key, the resident will need to sign the Occupancy Agreement. The resident will have access to the room until the next working day at which point the resident must-see reception to finalise all remaining paperwork.

Do you accept couples?

We accept couples at this accommodation if at least 1 resident is a currently enrolled student studying at any tertiary level institution in the Darwin region. Couples will be assessed for NRAS to ensure they meet the required limits for two adults within the one dwelling.

Students can easily acquire a discounted Tap and Ride card, which can be used on buses.

1. Bus: The NT Department of Transport operates consistent bus services between Alice Springs, Palmerston, and Darwin. Students at CDU are eligible for the bus travel discount seven days a week. The bus driver must see your student ID card. International university students are not eligible for the discounted ticket. The Casuarina Shopping Center, Palmerston interchange, and Darwin interchange are home to the main bus interchanges. To use Darwin's public bus network, students can buy a Tap and Ride card or single tickets on board (cash only). Once they have the Tap and Ride card, it can be used for 10 bus rides or seven days of limitless travel before its credit expires. Students can  Tap the card on the reader when they get on the bus to begin the ride.
