Who can live in the student accomodation?

The Residencia Universitaria Galds admits students from all universities and educational institutions. There are also places for students of public service examinations. You can apply for your place from January for the following academic year.

What is the contract length?

The Residencia Universitaria Galds has a minimum stay of 1 academic year (9 months), normally from September of one year to the end of June the following year.

Can I stay in the summer?

Yes, although the contract extension is not automatic and depends on summer groups. Please request your summer stays as soon as possible.

Can I pay monthly?

Yes. The academic year fee can be spread into monthly payments by direct debit. If you prefer to make one single annual payment, well give you a 5% discount.

Do I get my security deposit back?

Yes. Well, supposing that you dont break anything including the terms of the contract, especially the minimum stay requirement!

What is included in the price of the residence?

Full-board, all utilities and the use of the common areas. Cleaning, bed linen and towels. Fibre-optic internet, CCTV 24h, maintenance and a lovely management team.

What is not included in the price of the residence?

Your take away Pizza the laundry of your own clothes, photocopies and the carpark.

Are the rooms mixed?

Our Residence is mixed (co-ed) but the rooms are not. In twin rooms, both residents must be the same sex.

Can I choose my room?

You can tell us your preference and well try pour best but its a great big game of Tetris and we cant always guarantee it.

From when can I arrive?

In principle, you should arrive on the first day of your contract. If you want to arrive earlier, you should consult us in advance.

What do I have to bring?

Your stuff! Your room is complete but bring a network cable, some hangers, nespresso.

What should I not bring?

Bed linen or towels. Too much stuff you wont need it. Nothing which makes too much noise.

Can I decorate my room?

As long as you leave it as you found it, no problem. Otherwise we might have to charge for damages.

Can I bring pets?

No. We love animals but no.

Is there a laundry room?

Yes. There are two types of washers and dryers. One works with an App and you dont need washing powder or fabric softener; the other is coin operated and youll need to provide your own washing powder and fabric softener just in case you have an allergy or if you just like the smell of your usual brand!

Is there a mail service?

Yes. We will take your letters and packets. Please note cautiously the policy concerning the mail service in the contract.

Have I got internet?

Yes. The Residence has a dedicated super-fast fibre-optic broadband connection. In your room you have a cable connection and there is WiFi throughout the building.

Can I have a party?

Not in your room. You can request permission to use the common areas. In any case, well organise the parties as well!

Can I have friends stay?

Overnight guests are strictly controlled. You have to ask for permission and wait for confirmation from the building management. You should plan in advance for this.

Can I park in the residence?

Yes. The garage has reduced priced for residents.

How can I let maintenance know of a problem?

You can notify the maintenance team at reception or by email
