Established on 1 January 1991, Australian Catholic University commonly known as ACU is a public university in Australia. Born following the merger of four Catholic tertiary institutions in eastern Australia, namely the Institute of Catholic Education- Victoria, Catholic College of Education Sydney- New South Wales, Signadou College of Education- Australian Capital Territory, and McAuley College- Queensland, the ACU is composed of four faculties, which offers doctoral, master and bachelor degrees.

Spread across seven campuses across Australia and a campus in Rome, the ACU caters about 34,834 students worldwide and provides courses in subjects related to Health Sciences, Education and Arts, Law and Business and Theology and Philosophy.

Situated in one of the oldest suburbs of Sydney, on 25A Barker Road, the ACU's Strathfield Campus commonly known as Mount Saint Mary is a campus steeped in history campus but comes with all the modern facilities. Located just 14km west from the city centre of Sydney, the Strathfield Campus provides a range of full time and part-time undergraduate, postgraduate and research degrees to both domestic as well as international students. Also, Mount Saint Mary campus is well-connected via public transport for students commuting from the Blue Mountains and Central Coast. 

Just a short drive from Queensland's famous beaches, the ACU's Brisbane McAuley campus located on 1100 Nudgee Road merely 12km north of the city centre offers a range of courses at both undergrduate, postgraduate as well as research levels. In addition to this, the McAuley campus also houses Peter W Sheehan Gallery, a medical centre, gym and a well-stocked library. Apart from this, the Australian Catholic University also houses campuses across Melbourne, Ballarat, Adelaide, Canberra and Rome.
