This suburb is located approximately a few kilometres south of the Central Business District and is served by the Belair Railway Line. Google and Apple Maps provide accurate transit directions for those who prefer public transportation. The Adelaide Metro website and several smartphone apps provide real-time arrival information (e.g. Transit Times).
1. Cycling
A group of inner-city councils sponsors a free bike rental service. Bikes are free from more than ten locations throughout the City and suburbs but must be returned by 4:30 p.m. on weekdays and 5 p.m. on weekends, or a $25 fee will be charged. A popular ride is along the River Torrens from the city centre to West Beach, then down to Glenelg and back.
2. Train
The Adelaide Metro train system has four main lines and two branch lines. Clarence Park is the nearest train station, only a 5-minute walk away, and Millswood is 22 minutes away.
3. Buses
The free City Connector bus service operates on two loops: an inner city loop and an extended loop around North Adelaide, connecting popular city attractions and shopping, dining, and service destinations. The nearest stop, Sussex Terrace, is just a walk from Westbourne Park. The 200 bus route runs along Sussex Terrace, which is convenient for students.
4. Taxis
South Australian taxis are white (even those operated by ‘Yellow Cabs’) and marked. During business hours in the City, you can usually hail a taxi on the street or from a major hotel, but in the suburbs, you’ll need to call one of the company booking services listed.
