Established in 2012, Torrens University is a private university in Australia. Torrens is a part of the Laureate International Universities network with campus spread across Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. Following the commision, Torrens University became the 33rd university in Australia and the first new university to be built in the past 20 years.


Accredited by the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency in the year 2012, Torrens University was originally expected to open in 2013, however, the university commenced its teaching from 2014. With its headquarters located in the Torrens Building in Adelaide city centre, the university currently caters about 10,000 students. 


Torrens University Australia offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Global Project Management, Business Administration, Education, Design and Digital Media, Commerce, Public Health along with Higher Degrees by Research. In addition to this, the university also runs English language courses.

Location

The Torrens University has campuses located across four Australian cities including Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney. Apart from this, Torrens also has a campus in New Zealand. 


The Torrens University Australia established its first campus in the heritage-listed Torrens Building, on Tarndanyangga/ Victoria Square in the Adelaide city centre|CBD in the year 2013. Later on, in August 2015, the Torrens opened its new campus on Wakefield Street, just along the road in the old Menz Biscuits factory. The Torrens University Adelaide campuses offers its students with both bachelors as well as a masters degree in various subjects. 

The  Torrens University Australia has a total of three campuses in the city of Brisbane- Fortitude Valley Campus, Torrens University Language Centre and Gotha Street campus. Located cliffs overlooking the Brisbane River, Torrens the Fortitude Valley Campus is just a short walk away from the Fortitude Valley train station. The Fortitude Valley Campus offers both undergraduate as well as postgraduate courses in subjects including business, design, entrepreneurship, health science, technology and project management. Situated on Bowen Terrace, just minutes from Brisbane's city centre, the Torrens University Language Centre offers undergraduate english courses. Centrally located close to the Brisbane Central Business district, Torrens Gotha Street campus offers undergraduate nursing courses. The campus is  practical learning hub and Wellbeing Clinic for the Health Science programs. Also, the campus is easily accessible within a close proximity to public transport. 


The city of Melbourne hosts about 3 Torrens campuses, out of which  two of them ( Torrens University Language Centre and Flinders Street campus) are located in the eye of Melbourne’s fashionable and trendiest area Flinders Street - while the third is located in the vibrant Brunswick Street district in the inner city suburb of Fitzroy close to Melbourne’s CBD. 


The Torrens University has a total of 6 campuses in the Sydney area out of which five of the campuses are located within the CBD. The Torrens’ Sydney campuses includes the rock campus,  ultimo campus, Pyrmont campus, Town hall campus, Torrens University Language Centre, Kent street campus and the Blue Mountains campus. 


Spread across several different floors, the Torrens University’s Auckland campus- Media Design School is located at 92 Albert Street in the heart of Auckland city, close to Britomart.
