Yes, as long as your tenancy starts in the summer with a half-rent period, you can leave your belongings in the property. Maintenance will be completed on a priority basis once you move in.

When can I move in?

How do I collect my keys?

Keys must be collected from the office during opening hours. You need to book your key collection at least seven days in advance to ensure all documentation is received. Do I get an inventory form?

Yes, you will receive an inventory for your room or flat. If you are the first tenant to move in, you will also receive an inventory for the communal areas. Check both carefully and return them to the office within 24 hours of moving in. Late submissions cannot be used as a valid record of the property’s condition.

Do I need a TV licence?

If you have a TV provided or bring your own and plan to watch live channels, you will need to purchase a TV licence. If you only use the TV for gaming, streaming, or watching DVDs, a licence is not required.

Do I need contents insurance?

Yes, it is strongly recommended that you insure your personal belongings, especially valuable items like laptops, tablets, and phones.

Do I have to allow access to the property?

Yes. The landlord or someone acting on their behalf has the right to access the property at reasonable times to inspect, carry out repairs, maintenance, or viewings. By law, tenants must be given at least 24 hours’ written notice before any visit. You may allow earlier access if agreed verbally, but this must be confirmed with you beforehand. In emergencies, the landlord or agent may enter the property without prior notice.
