Established in 1096, The University of Oxford, located in Oxford, England, is the oldest University in the English-speaking world and is also regarded as one of the most prestigious universities in the world.  The University of Oxford grew rapidly in 1167 when Henry II banned English students from attending the University of Paris. Then first colleges of Oxford opened during the 13th century, but no female students were allowed until 1878. Location

Oxford university is a city university, which means it doesn't have a main campus. It is made up of many different buildings, academic departments, college, accommodation, and other facilities, all located around the centre of Oxford. Many university buildings- gardens, museums, libraries, and colleges are open to visitors during the day time, but there are a few things to be considered while visiting, such as opening hours, fees, and rules. There is an excellent transportation system around the university.


There are two railway stations near Oxford University, namely Oxford station and Oxford Parkway station. Oxford station runs regular direct services to London Paddington, reading, Birmingham new street, and others. The service is also available to Manchester, Southampton, and Newcastle. Even from Paddington station, the train leaves every 5 to 10 minutes to the oxford station and the journey takes almost an hour.


You don't have to worry if you are travelling from London to Oxford or Oxford to London as there is a convenience of buses up to 24 hours a day, The Oxford Tube is the perfect, convenient and a prevalent option and the trip takes about an hour and 40 minutes. The Oxford Tube has pick-up points from multiple stops in London and Oxford, and Nation express also runs coach trips to Oxford bus station from London Victoria coach station. Oxford is 62 miles northwest of London via the M4, M25, M40, and A roads and London is just about an hour and a half away.
