Located in Norfolk, England, City College Norwich is further and higher education college. Famed to be one of the largest colleges in Norwich, City College Norwich has its origins traced back to 1891 when the first Technical School in Norwich was inaugurated.  Later on, in the year 1953, City College Norwich moved to its current site on Ipswich Road, in Norwich, Norfolk, England. The college also has a place at Norfolk House in Norwich city centre, which is home to the School of Higher Education. Apart from this, the college is also part of TEN Group which is a federation of colleges and schools in Norfolk formed in 2012. And eventually, in December 2017, North Walsham's Paston College also became a part of City College Norwich following an amalgamation with Paston Sixth Form College.


Currently catering a total of 11,000 students, the college offers a range of both full-time and part-time courses for adults as well as young people. Some of the notable alumni of the college include Tom Aikens, Stephen Fry, Derek Rayner, Baron Rayner, Rodolfo González, Stephen Fry and Jon McGregor.

Location

The City College Norwich has two primary campuses located in Norwich, one in Ipswich Road and other on Exchange Street. Established in 1953, City College Norwich main campus is located close to the city centre on Ipswich Road, Norwich. The Ipswich Road campus is home to Creative Arts Building and the Debut Restaurant, situated within the College's Hotel School. The Debut Restaurant is usually open to the public during the term time. Also, the members of the public can visit the College's Solutions Gym and Solutions Hair and Beauty salon. The campus also houses an on-campus theatre "Platform Theatre" which throws in regular productions by musical theatre, acting students, dance and music. 


Located in the heart of Norwich on Exchange Street, the College's Norfolk House campus is where the University of East Anglia's approved degrees and other Higher Education courses are taught. However, the degree in Professional Aviation Engineering Practice and Courses in Aviation Engineering are shown at the IAAN (International Aviation Academy Norwich) at Norwich Airport. 

Student life

Norfolk is a city with a great choice of outdoor activities, entertainment options, parks, hiking spots, shopping points and vibrant eating scenes, and even with City College Norwich located close to the city centre, students studying at the college will have a lot of entertainment options to explore and enjoy during their college days. 


City College Norwich has plenty of choices when it comes to places to drink, eat, and unwind at. The college has its own six on-campus restaurants and cafes, namely; Costa Coffee, Debut Cafe, City Restaurant, Cafe Devour, Starbucks Cafe and Debut Restaurant. Apart from this, the college also houses a well-stocked library and a vibrant Students' Union, which is led by college students. The Student Union also hosts regular events such as Norwich Pride and the Freshers Fair. Also, there are a variety of student societies, groups and associations for the students to check out and indulge in.


Apart from the university bubble, you can spend your day off sitting and chilling at Sheringham Park or enjoy the sight of a deer and other livestock from the back of a tractor at the Snettisham Park. Walk between the unique, quaint little shops at Royal Arcade or experience incredible craftsmanship at Langham Glass.
