Situated in the city of London, the King's College London (KCL) also known as King's is a public research university founded by Arthur Wellesley and King George IV in the year 1829. With its origins traced back to 1561, as one of the earliest medical school, the university is considered as the fourth oldest university institution in Great Britain. Later on, in 1836, KCL became one of the two founding colleges of the University of London.

Subsequently, in the late 20th century, the King's College grew as a result of mergers between numerous colleges including the Queen Elizabeth College, the United Medical and Dental Schools of Guy's and St Thomas' Hospitals, Chelsea College of Science and Technology, the Florence Nightingale School of Nursing and Midwifery and the Institute of Psychiatry. 

Currently catering a total of 26,000 students, the King's College London is one of the most esteemed universities in the UK which offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses, out of which the university is mainly known for Law, Medicine and Mathematics.

King's College London has a total of five campuses; The Strand Campus, Guy's Campus, Waterloo Campus, St Thomas's Campus and Denmark Hill Campus.

The main founding campus "The Strand" is located right next to the Somerset House in the City of Westminster. The King's College Strand campus comprises faculties of arts and science including the faculties of Law, Social Science and Public Policy, Arts & Humanities, Natural & Mathematical Sciences and Business. AnCaring Cross, Covent Garden and Temple are the closest underground station from the campus. 

Named after the founder and benefactor of Guy's Hospital "Thomas Guy", Guy's Campus is located close to the Shard and the London Bridge on the South Bank of the Thames. Home to the Dental Institute and Faculty of Life Sciences & Medicine, the campus also houses many buildings including the Gordon Museum of Pathology, the Henriette Raphael building, Guy's Chapel, the Hodgkin building and Shepherd's House. 

Located near the South Bank Centre across Waterloo Bridge in the London Borough of Lambeth, the Waterloo campus is home to the School of Biomedical Sciences, Diabetes & Nutritional Sciences Division, The London Dental Education Centre (LonDEC) and The School of Education, Communication & Society. Waterloo is the closest underground station from the campus. 

The King's St Thomas' Campus is located in the London Borough of Lambeth, and is home to The Florence Nightingale Museum and parts of the Dental Institute and the School of Medicine. The closest underground station from the Thomas' Campus is Westminster. 

Situated near the borders of the London Borough of Lambeth and the London Borough of Southwark in Camberwell in south London, the Denmark Hill Campus is home to the Maudsley Hospital, the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience (IoPPN) and King's College Hospital. The campus also consists of other buildings which include the Weston Education Centre (WEC), the Rayne Institute, the Cicely Saunders Institute and the James Black Centre.
