Located in the city of Liverpool, England, Liverpool Hope University is a public university which has its history traced back to 1844. Established in the 19th century, the university's founding colleges- Notre Dame and Saint Katherine's was the UK's first institutions to provide higher education for women. The Christ College was the second Catholic teacher education college which admitted its first students in 1964. Later on in the year 1980, all the three colleges united in an ecumenical union under the heading of Liverpool Institute of Higher Education (LIHE). In the year 1995, the Articles of Government constituted a single and unified college under the name of Liverpool Hope.


After an extensive examination and survey by the Quality Assurance Agency, the Liverpool Hope was granted its degree-awarding power in August 2002. Later on, in September 2004, the college drafted an application to become a university, which was approved by the Privy Council in July 2005. Renamed as "Liverpool Hope University", the university gained its university status under the governance of Gerald. J. Pillay.

The Liverpool Hope University currently divided into three faculties- Education, Science and Arts and Humanities. These faculties were further classified into 19 departments. Awarded with a Gold standing in UK's Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF), the university offers both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in different subjects, out of which the particularly famous ones include Social Sciences, Theology and Teaching.

The main teaching campus of Liverpool Hope University- Hope Park is located at Taggart Avenue in the suburbs of Childwall in Liverpool. Situated close to the Queens Drive, the city Centre is merely a 20-minute drive away from the campus. Students can also find buses from Queen Square Bus Station which goes to Woolton Road/Taggart Avenue or Childwall Valley Road. Also, the Broad Green Railway Station is just an 8-minute drive from the campus. Liverpool's central railway station - Liverpool Lime Street is also located at a comfortable distance from the university. 


Located at the Shaw Street, which is just an 8-minute short drive from Liverpool City Centre, the Creative Campus is home to Liverpool Hope's teaching campuses and also includes Cornerstone Café, Reading Room, ancient Cornerstone Building, Gerard Manley Hopkins Hall and the Capstone Building and Theatre. The university also offers a sizeable on-site living and social spaces and is located close to the city centre. Therefore, the students can enjoy all the amenities affiliated with city living. Also, Liverpool Lime Street Station is approximately a 15-minutes walk from the campus.
